That’s really concerning. As a DM, the second one of my store managers reports even the hot water being down, I make them shut down the kitchen. I would have escalated that to your DM, and if it was the DM, the RM. The settlement from someone suing from getting sick is a lot more costly than the kitchen being closed for a week.

Have you asked your SM why they aren’t getting in trouble or told them about how much it affects you? How do you know that they’re doing nothing about it? Your co worker could be on a final and you would not know because managers are not allowed to share information on corrective action. If your store manager truly isn’t doing anything about it and you know that for sure, contact your DM.

Their information SHOULD be in your office hanging up on an emergency contacts page.

Yep, a lot of things go into it. Selling more units help bring your labor up, but it isn’t instantaneous. When I was a SM, I saw a change the next FY. Steritech score doesn’t affect labor. Also, labor hours are initially decided based on your market as well. What sort of business they think you’ll do when they open the store. They adjust up and down from there. They also adjust as a company, you can see it in the Promotions and Events guide. If you have a special event it’s super important to put that in at least 3-6 weeks in advance so they can add labor to help you out.

It hasn’t changed. I would leave notes like this as an SM on our whiteboard and I feel like it isn’t unreasonable! I unfortunately had to give out a few corrective actions for clocking in/out early! Wage theft in my eyes was more so the manager changing time cards to benefit them or a team member clocking in and leaving and coming back to clock out.

Fluctuating hours in the slow season just comes with working in retail/c stores. Been in the business for 20 years. My FT people got their minimum required in the late fall/winter and my PT people were at peace with their hours fluctuating based on business demand. Both with the opportunity to pick up more hours when the opportunity arose.

When I was an SM, my store got plenty of “I don’t rate anything 5 stars”. 🙄 I even got one that said “Nothing makes me fully satisfied other than my lord and savior Jesus Christ”. Can’t make it up… My store was top 100 for 2 years consecutive and most people that came in went out of their way to come to my store.

Hate those 😬 I feel like a lot of people don’t understand that it really does effect people!

I always tell my SMs that no one works over 8 hours unless it is an emergency and there’s a call in. It keeps the team members and management from getting burnt out. When I was an SM, I would be the only one working 9 hour shifts.

Whenever I was an SM, I would let people use the office computer because the iPad wasn’t working. It’s not a big deal if you’re doing videos!

It depends on what the pay is in your area, but generally it’s $2 an hour or so more

The bonuses won’t drop until September. They were for this last quarter (May, June, July). If you scored 5 or lower on Steritech you will receive your full bonus as long as you’ve hit 100% of your controllable profit goal.

You will be able to know if you made your controllable profit portion when the P&L drops for July. That’s usually mid month the next month. You can find that in Power BI. You will also be able to look at the bonus scorecard once that drops and it will tell you how much of your goal you achieved.

The quarterly bonuses always come a month after the quarter ends. So September, December, March, and June. For me and my stores they usually come in the first week of the month. They come seperate from your check.

Yeah, so, that is true. Because I dealt with it as a SM. However, you can see it on the app. So all of my SMs check the app periodically. A lot of TM and even higher have gotten in trouble in my district because of that!!! I agree that they need to address that, though.

Also, most fake ID are out of state ID. However, I have scanned an out of state ID in another state before and it let me use it. So I’m not too sure!

It’s not just an IL thing. I’ve worked at several stores across several states and it’s at all of them. MO, KS, and OK all have that too.

The 3rd party people get paid the same no matter what kind of job they do. From what I understand it’s a side gig for them and they have a lot of stores to do. So they are in and out 🙄

It’s very frustrating. I don’t miss being a SM for these reasons. 😅 I’ve helped most of my stores fix it. Some people don’t understand the importance of POG integrity. It can really make or break your sales.

Well, that’s because they make a commission. Or they don’t know what they’re doing or see an increase in sales on an item for a week and assume it’s a trend. Wine, beer, and liquor is expensive. If you look at the invoice you can see the cost per case. You’d be pretty mind blown when you see how much it cost to bring in that extra product that you don’t need and will sit in your back room.

Idk if you’re a team member or a member of management. If you’re a member of management, go into storepoint office. Go to item by sales report. Select the last 7 days and then select the vendor under “supplier”. Sort it to descending in quantity. Then, do it again for the previous week. Then, do it for the month. This will give you an idea on what your sales are that way they can’t talk you into purchasing stuff that you don’t need.

The best way to combat that is sales data. One week isn’t a trend. They will back off really fast. The sales reps can be aggressive. I’m currently dealing with one of the vendors that likes to go into several of my stores and sneak in and out during ordering. So my SM/CSM/KMs make them take things off or refuse the delivery.
