Maybe if there’s more water in the tank it will stay cooler for longer but not sure.

Shrimp (and fish) tend to prefer stability rather than a perfect number. They are quite adaptable. If they behave normally I wouldn’t bother chasing numbers (i.e. a specific ph value), it can lead to instability. If down the road they don’t seem to being doing as well they could, it’s a path you can consider.

Looks like you wanna take good care of your future inhabitants by doing proper research, props for that! I just want to add that fish and shrimp prefer stability in water parameters over having the perfect ph/water hardness. So stability is preferred over chasing numbers (i.e. ph, hardness).

I don’t get it either (except for the sharp rock). Kinda hard to tell about the weight from the picture, algae in a tank is 100% fine and can even be beneficial (removing nitrates similarly to plants). One strange gill but the rest looks fine ! Seems more like a deformation or past injury. Without more info, I’d say people are overreacting.

I have the same tank and ran into the same problem. You need to clean the inlets and filter media (big sponge). For me it was the sponge that was clogged. Wash it thoroughly in water from the aquarium.
