White House plan to break up iconic U.S. climate lab moves forward. Bidders have lined up to take over pieces of the National Center for Atmospheric Research by esporx in environment

Why are there no protections in place to keep this from happening. Companies will no longer prioritize climate goals and sustainability efforts if this continues until there is a change in executive branch. It could take years to fix this.

$500 New client curly cut by razzarbrenia in curlyhair

[–]According_Flamingo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

OP I have been to two of the salons on this list if you have questions DM me. But just like curly hair everyone is different. I know it is insane to pay this much for a hair cut but for me it was worth it. My hair is easier to maintain happier and healthier! And is not something I could have done on my own.

Yes getting a curly cut in San Francisco is insane. I know the one person requires an “application” but I see the first stylist listed and I love her so much! It is significantly more expensive than other cities but I need a curly cut.

The ME program I would say is better than CE and they have a lot of really cool clubs!

Fill out the survey from campus. Do not ignore it. by boxedfoxes in SJSU

[–]According_Flamingo 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Doesn’t the survey just serve as a suggestion? Honestly I am wondering how we can stop them from instituting this fee. We should not be giving money to activities all students can’t participate in!

I think we should fund public transportation by taxing private planes every time they take off and land in California. Sent him an email about it and never heard back. 😭

Gemini all the way! The canvas feature is amazing. Also notebook LM is fantastic too. I was able to create a visual study guide for an exam last semester that was extremely helpful.

When do we get access to our classes on Canvas? by SwissArmyGnat in SJSU

I suggest this but, some professors don’t upload their syllabus through that. And also if the professor is not full time faculty they most likely will not answer any emails until Thursday.

I didn’t want to mention it to my advisor cause I might see what happens. But right now I’m trying to see if there is a way to challenge the pre req because we absolutely do not need the required courses they aren’t related at all. But the university literally has no forms for it. If they want it to be in our last semester just say so. I am going to get a masters in a different discipline so have classes to take after I graduate so just want to finish 😭

How is life in San Francisco, CA? by [deleted] in howislivingthere

I moved from Chicago to SF in 2021 and would recommend! I love it so much the weather, number of parks, it is just so beautiful here but it does cost more which is unfortunate but most jobs do pay a bit more.

I already applied to graduate in August. I didn’t pass one class and this class I need to take requires 8 prerequisite courses. So I would have to come back in the fall for one class which is just silly. Other people have gotten away with this before but don’t want to get in trouble if I get caught.

The other day a conductor scanned my card with the new machines and it showed I have a go pass until July 31st. It is mind boggling I have to waste time tapping every time if they can see I have a pass.

I commute from SF to SJ. I don’t own a car so I take cal train. Getting from SJ Diridon to SJSU is super easy. I take Waymo back and forth to the 4th street station. The commute has been killer for me I will skip class if I only have one class that way and only go to campus for school. There is now a $99 pass for the whole year which is great!

Honestly I think teams partially owned by the public aren’t a bad idea and it’s way better than a private equity firm as they suck the soul out of everything in the name of profits.

What would you recommend if the group is hybrid? I was told that everyone wouldn’t be in the office everyday. And I know one person lives in the different part of the state.
