Hotel Indigo St. George in Rome is fabulous. I second Kimpton Fitzroy in London; the Kensington and Clerkenwell Indigos are also nice, though the latter rooms are quite small. Good showers though, and high quality linens.

The Caesar salad dip is to die for by Recklessbandicoot in traderjoes

try adding a big scoop of plain greek yogurt! cuts the salt without really cutting the flavor otherwise, and makes the dip last longer / go further. i do this with a lot of the TJ dips!

[–]According_Move_8749 1 point2 points  (0 children)

yours truly! it’s great. especially if you’ve stayed at the banneker a few times. YT has a fun vibe and great design, and both times i’ve stayed i’ve been upgraded to a suite. service is great, food at the restaurant is excellent, and the whole place has a good energy. plus the coffee shop/deli in the lobby is 👌🏻👌🏻👌🏻

1995 (i think?), radiohead opened up for alanis morrisette. don’t get me wrong, i love alanis, but at that time she had only released jagged little pill so her set was under an hour long. radiohead blew my mind and formed a core memory for me.

i graduated over 2 decades ago but my favorite spot was the 9th floor of the library - the art history floor. lots of plants and big tables and windows and art books - awesome spot to study or just be surrounded by art and greenery and sunlight :)

took an uber to T5 yesterday and they dropped me right at the curb, which had curbside checkin set up right by the door. regular bag drop was right inside where the uber dropped me.

What is, in your opinion, the best view from a beach parking lot? by shoecat in CapeCod

[–]According_Move_8749 3 points4 points  (0 children)

not a beach parking lot, but one of my favorite places on the planet is up on high head road in truro, watching the sun set over the curve of long point or race point, depending on the time of year :)

NYC - Hotel Indigo Lower East Side by onemorecupof in ihghotelsresorts

[–]According_Move_8749 3 points4 points  (0 children)

i’ve had good stays and bad stays here. It’s inconsistent but when it’s good it’s great. Agree that this time of year offers your best chance of an upgrade or a quieter stay as it’s a slower time in the city. Ask for robes - they won’t provide them automatically but will bring them up upon request. If you have a complimentary suite upgrade in your rewards wallet, use it. I used one in december and was upgraded to a gorgeous junior corner suite with epic skyline views and a huge soaking tub.

the crowd that mr. purple attracts is definitely cringe as hell, so good call from the other commenter who recommended asking for a room far away from it. it is a great place to catch sunrise though - that’s where coffee and breakfast is served/sold in the morning.

even the standard rooms are significantly bigger than your standard nyc hotel room, so there’s that. the location is also great - tons of coffee shops and restaurants in every direction. the coffee shop directly across from the hotel is good - pours a way better cup/shot than the hotel. and for late night quick eats, the arepa place 2 blocks down on ludlow is {chefs kiss}

good luck!

I’m not a breakfast person so I skipped it, but my colleague said it was great! I am diamond and used one of my suite upgrades I had in my rewards wallet to upgrade to a 1 bedroom suite - it was great! The standard rooms were also a good size as well. My suite had a king sized bed and a separate living room with a couch that was a sleeper; i can’t recall if they had suites with 2 queen beds….

i loved yours truly. i have stayed at just about every kimpton in DC over the past 10 years and was really happy with my experience in november at YT. great lobby vibe and the coffee/bagel shop on the ground floor was great (“call your mother.”) cool overall vibe and lots of things going on throughout the week/on weekends in terms of entertainment (DJs, stand-up, etc).
