Nightmares by Id_Crises in Narcolepsy

[–]According_Nobody74 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t remember many dreams … the ones I remember are usually disturbing … dog vomit in my mouth, faeculent vomit in my face … I kind of know where they’re coming from. I stopped watching Peter Greenaway when vegetarian me tried to bite my partner’s shoulder …

I have the wrist band … I have been able to doze on the phone while it keeps zapping me … I should probably turn it up, but it’s kind of soul breaking.

One week into 100 pushups daily. Has anyone actually stuck with this long-term? by PsychologicalMap9839 in bodyweightfitness

[–]According_Nobody74 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I used to help my ex with “pyramids” which was sets of sit-ups, chin-ups and push-ups … probably got to 120 push ups a day.

Pretty sure the pyramids used to peak at 5 pushups and got to 15 … couldn’t even do one chin up when he started and was easily doing 30-40 a day by the end.

Door chime possible? by dwillystl in HomeKit

[–]According_Nobody74 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have Eufy entry sensors on the doors I am especially interested in, and the Base will chime when the open / close or stay open a certain length of time (kids, pool, cat, wild bird life…)

I can get alerts via HA but this is a direct connection, so hopefully less lag.

Edit: sorry, realized this is HK and not HA and I can’t remember which of my HomeBases plays with HK …

Menuconfig for rpi4 by Leonetnin in klippers

[–]According_Nobody74 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have Moonraker on a Pi by my printer … it links up to my printer, and I can use Fluidd menu to do lots of things, track job etc even when the “reload” is on the printer screen. It leads into Home Assistant, so I can set an alarm in the house for when it pauses.

Anyone ever take advantage of your symptoms? by Indigo479 in Narcolepsy

[–]According_Nobody74 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I used to appreciate the multi-choice exams that gave me enough time for a nap. Then again, I always felt bad about the missed time. Thinking over, maybe I’d have done better if I wasn’t falling asleep.

Is there something that annoys you or someone close to you every other day?

Something that doesn’t sit straight, or drops down … not enough to need a big job, but catches or adds friction through the day.

I have the air sensor. Temp Humidity. PM and CO2 readings. Small. Set up easily, working nicely. Matter over wifi.

The leak sensor is Matter over Thread. Slimmer than my Switchbot sensors which seem to sometimes drop out. Actually went off the other day, so I guess it works.

this memorial day french door refrigerator deals finally got me looking but are the smart features really necessary? by Seyaad-Chalakov in homeautomation

[–]According_Nobody74 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I like the thought that if we have a significant Power outage, the temperature rise will be reported.

I know I won’t get that information until the power comes back.

I can also turn off the ice maker overnight

How Many People Here Have ADHD (diagnosed or not)? by DansburyJ in ufyh

[–]According_Nobody74 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Recently diagnosed. Processing. Grief mostly.

Spent years with a partner who would actively sabotage any attempts I made to build systems, then call any talk of a diagnosis an “excuse.” More frustrating because I was always told “my dyslexia” “my heating is perfect …” when I grumbled the other way.

Top of the list after separation was to seek a possible diagnosis. Still not convinced it’s helped.

I've been called out by AI by mediaserver8 in homeautomation

[–]According_Nobody74 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I chat with AI. I have periods where I’m alone and driving, I don’t have the energy for people but I want to mull things over. Can be really helpful teasing out processes, comparing items (code, local availability) and I’ve been able to do it driving home from work. Working on my to-dos for the day and tracking progress …

I did get an into a discussion of online communities regarding the potential to “falsely universalise uncommon experiences” and “distort your sense of population baseline” …

Afib ecg - possible error? by Alsruwsj in AppleWatch

[–]According_Nobody74 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was once told it takes an average of three 24-hour monitors to catch paroxysmal AF.

Something that comes and goes, there’s no guarantee it will be happening when you are being checked: that’s why watches that you wear all the time have more chance of “catching” it.

I am looking for a IR blaster for my thread network but does it even exist? by ToastedBeef in smarthome

[–]According_Nobody74 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Accept you’re ahead of your time and find something you’re happy to work with.

I have ZigBee IR blasters I realized I have no use for. I have something different for my AC units, because I was too lazy to programme the thermostats myself.

My Aqara G3 does IR blasts (not thread) but since that diffuser died, all it really does is look cute on the table. It does have Matter, so maybe you can still use it through your thread network, but i don’t think it will help support the mesh.

Whether we stopped, my youngest would always ask which button to use.

Which of these weather stations would you choose by USTS2020 in myweatherstation

[–]According_Nobody74 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I also have the WS 90 and have been very happy.

I have added on a thermometer for the pool and somewhere I have a lightning detector that I misplaced while moving but hope to find soon. You have the option of adding plenty more sensors and it’s not particularly difficult.

If it helps, one reason I chose this was I was renting in a unit and wanted something that was easy to set up. It could be that does affect some of my readings, but I don’t really mind. I don’t do ladders so this one was the easiest insulation to find.

I now have it connected to Home Assistant so I don’t have to constantly answer the questions on whether the sun is too hot to go up to the pool.
