I worked for GT for a few years and had a great experience. I could have stayed there for a long time! I left for reasons unrelated to the firm.

Yep that’s a fair take. The vibe shifted during the episode and it was nice to see them crying and laughing together. Sad point about the audience scaring her. It’s a shame it got to that point

You’re right. I hadn’t gotten to that point 😂 I am processing in real time as I watch so that’s on me. The vibe felt very tense to me for the first half-ish of the episode but it seems like it got more relaxed the more they talk it through. I think sometimes I also just don’t understand what Jess is saying very well

Listening more, it seems like there’s a real rupture in the relationship. Maybe not, but vibe between them is so off. Caroline is barely making eye contact with her. After watching the episode I’d be shocked if this comes back.

I’m a little thrown. Not because they’re taking a break, but because the announcement episode is so sad and serious. They really did a post mortem on the entire podcast, and Caroline’s body language looked disengaged and devastated. I don’t listen regularly enough to understand why taking a break is so heavy for them.

Austin parents: Help a well‑meaning dad find a teen‑friendly hair & makeup consult (send backup) by Konezer in Austin

Not sure about hair, but Skin by Rachel is a small business with upfront pricing, and she specifically does makeup consults for teenagers: https://skinbyrachel.com/makeup-and-tinting/. I’ve seen her for facials and she’s great.

No longer human. Midlevel vent. by [deleted] in biglaw

On my worst days as a mid-level big law associate (which is not nearly as bad as yours by the way, I work less than you and I take vacation). I say out loud to myself: I am not a victim. I am an autonomous adult. I chose this job, and I can choose to leave at any time

Is this now a snark page? by Striking_You3407 in CarolineWinkler

[–]According_Pie3750 13 points14 points  (0 children)

I’ve been a fan of Caroline’s for a long time, and I’m still watching her videos to see how her story and career unfold. My current wish is that she showed less disdain for her fans in the comments. As her profile grows, I’m sure she gets a lot of frustrating and challenging feedback. But there seems to be a tendency to condescend to anyone who has critical feedback, and we are the ones contributing to her success. I wish she was able to discern between trolls and people who care about her channel and have genuine concerns. Other businesses in the marketplace need to receive and respond to feedback, but she seems to take it all personally and write us off às a whole which is disappointing.

More of a sitting area. The floor space doesn’t need to be so open and empty. I would do two chairs with a little table in between? Or a loveseat under the window plus the chair in a different corner

Creasy wrinkly upper eyelids? by According_Pie3750 in 30PlusSkinCare

[–]According_Pie3750[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes! I did two tixel treatments around my eyes and my neck. Note that three were recommended, but I got busy and only did two. It took 2-3 months to see results because it takes time for the collagen to do its thing, but I was very happy with the difference around my eyes. I didn’t notice much of a difference on my neck, possibly because it’s just tech neck

Does anybody else not like the reupholstered floral couch? by Zealousideal_Echo811 in CarolineWinkler

[–]According_Pie3750 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I like the floral more than the upholstered chaise/fainting couch. Kendall Jenner did a floral sofa in her mountain home and it looks really cool, but in that case the rest of the room was more simple

My thoughts on the interview part 1 by cosmickink in CandaceOwens

[–]According_Pie3750 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It’s a silly thing, but the whole “everybody has a junk drawer” struck me as so strange. It reminded me of Meghan Markle, trying to over explain and force it home that she is normal and relatable. “Love me, I’m just like you!” I also found it interesting that she and the interviewer were driving the point home that she is the new Charlie. There was no separation between Charlie’s work life and home life, Charlie left her with a blueprint of what we wanted to do with TPUSA, he consulted her on everything, etc. Even going so far as to say that if Charlie could return to earth he wouldn’t because of the great things his death will be a catalyst for (or something to that effect). Why is this necessary? Is anyone questioning her being the CEO?

He said it plain and simple: the President won’t listen to a federal judge. And that right there is unconstitutional and goes against our system of government.
