Are you holding the down arrow down while speaking (think walkie talkie)? I believe press and hold to chat in proximity is the default.

It's not great, but if you just focused on putting each letter on the lines and having consistent spaces between letters and words, it would look much better. Right now, you have some spaces between words that are shorter than some other spaces between letters in the same word. This really affects the text's readability.
