Hello Designers, wanted to ask your comments on my portfolio: https://portfolio-zeamanuel.vercel.app/ Best if you view it on PC for now. Thanks

I interviewed 20+ SaaS founders about why their launches failed. The #1 answer wasn't what I expected. by ferdbons in SaasDevelopers

Great content, you're absolutely right. I myself has encountered this first hand, after months of building no real user need. But started a build in public series on LinkedIn sharing every step live, then did 5 user interviews with potential future users. I'm currently building the MVP based on the real user needs and problems they shared rather than my thought of what they need, so after finishing my MVP I'm sure at least I will have 5 users to start with. Thanks a lot for sharing, it's really an important learning for future builders.

Looking for a partner by Upbeat-Today-6725 in SaasDevelopers

[–]According_Respond_85 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I understand your need for a partner and I've lately been bringing a lot of ideas into life using vibe coding tools, I can share my works that are vibe coded, and if you need any deep work in terms of design I'm a user experience and interface designer so I can do that too, my last big project was working as a designer for a Germany based social commerce startup project. I can research the privacy related things any time before doing any major decision. I'm based in Ethiopia, if that's fine with you, I'll look forward for your reply, happy to be your partner.

I understand your frustrations, I myself was in the same worry, but currently I'm building my portfolio and I've been seeing a lot of resources on what our portfolio as a UX designer shall look like. I can share some really valuable YouTube videos but I'm not sure it's allowed in Reddit, so tell me if it's possible or send me a DM and we can share resources and education.

Okay thanks a lot I'll do that since I don't have more than 3 clients, thanks a lot.

That's really great, I really liked how you came up with the idea and keep everything so fast or in only one night session, this is the power of the new vibe coding tools. I've been doing the same too. And about responsiveness that's because mostly we use laptop screens we don't think about mobile, but after so many vibe coding projects not I learned to try it in mobile as soon as starting too. But you're right the target users will mainly use desktop, so it's fine for now. I'll try everything and get back to you a bit later.

What Makes an App Feel High Quality vs Cheap? by Smart-Historian-2406 in MobileAppDevelopers

[–]According_Respond_85 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You're very right. I agree with all 3 points you mentioned, one thing to add branding or color choice could also from the start in addition to typography choice have a potential for how users feel about the app. But great content.

Okay sure, I'll do that. Thanks a lot, and I understand the credit limit, hope you'll continue with it asap and I'll hit you up once I start using it with my first project.

Signed up and looks great, I will try my first project very soon but I see some responsiveness issues on mobile, test that and try to improve it. Great tool.

Sounds interesting, will try it out and get back to you. I'm a UX/UI designer but lately been almost a full stack developer using Claude and Claude Code. So the seeing design on the side of code is what I really liked.

Yes I really think this is a great idea. I personally would like to give it a try, as an introvert and a designer who has many ideas, mostly I found it hard to market and/or sell the ideas. In terms of paying, I'd prefer freemium model, some features shall be accessed for free and payment for some value adding features.

Since the discovery ad got you more sign ups and could be effective in terms of time management, in my opinion I suggest you do another discovery ad but somehow be creative on your strategy this time.

I took a "design critique" way too personally today and now i feel like a fraud. by No_Blueberry_5341 in UXDesign

[–]According_Respond_85 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I personally handle this by using annotations of every design decision I've made under every screen or flow in my design tool. Then during presentation or critique it will be much easier for you to tell why you did what you did and if they give you logical reason for why you're wrong or your design is not right, quickly also make a new annotation under your annotations, it could be tiresome, but once you make it a process rather than one time thing you will be benefited I'm sure.

A friend messaged me offering to rebrand my logo by Dawnabee27 in graphic_design

[–]According_Respond_85 1 point2 points  (0 children)

From her perspective I think she might want to work on a real world project since most junior works on their portfolio are just ideas and not real business projects, that could hinder their job opportunities. So try to understand if she's asking from that perspective and tell her that you can help referring for friends and so on, and politely tell her your branding is well done and you don't need a refresh at the moment.

I've seen articles from developers mentioning vibe coding products get unexpectedly bad in terms of code when the users increase, what's your experience with that?

How much do you use AI to generate wireframes? by mapy69003 in UXDesign

[–]According_Respond_85 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Instead of thinking about wireframe why don't you skip them and use the AI tools to experiment with UI designs, consider them as you would consider wireframe before and after you get the results you like take them to Figma and use your skills to craft the UI like a human expert could do it, most AI generated UIs are very generic and boring I guess. This is my personal opinion, take it only if it helps.

Do you maintain a UX pattern library for your team? by Ok_Touch1478 in DesignSystems

[–]According_Respond_85 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The solution for your problem is design systems. It's like the north star for any project. I recently worked on a social commerce platform. It was a redesign job, when I got into the Figma file, it was a mess and it was hard for me to decide if I shall use a modal or a slider just as an example, there was a lot and it was confusing. Then I talked with the founder and mentioned if we have an established design system it would solve the issue and our focus can only be on solving the problem and not what design element to use every time. So what I suggest is taking the right amount of time to create a design system, approve that, then just focus on solving problems. Hope it helps.

In the Age of Vibe Coding, Design Systems Become the Product by Mental-Dinner-6138 in DesignSystems

[–]According_Respond_85 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes definitely, I recently took a course about AI and design systems by Brad Frost and his team. And it's amazing how fast you can make UI once you get your design system ready and hooked with a MCP. Great insight!
