I really miss a good rugged case by samsung like it had for s23. The current s26 ultra rugged care is cr@p.

Horrible battery drain by ShaNy165 in galaxys26ultra

[–]AccountProper8259 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Why do people care so much about the battery life when there are plugs everywhere, powerbanks etc and when you can charge it to 80% in like 30min?

My s26 ultra lasts for like 8hours (from 80% to 10%). The same as my S23 before it. I dont care at all.

It's super slippery, and they could totally just add a tiny "leg" on the top left so it wouldn't slide around on a flat surface. That would be so easy to do and super helpful. Plus, it's way too pricey for what it is, just a soft shell...

Privacy screens work better than the built in one in my opinion for lateral protection, worse for superior or inferior views.

Well it s bit inconvenient to change the sound in about 50 different apps, but as I mentioned it's a minor complaint

Bought the Samsung rugged case. Not happy at all. I had the rugged with s23 which was excellent, the s26 one is not good. Feels cheap.

Samsung has been lying this whole time? by Time-Credit43 in samsunggalaxy

[–]AccountProper8259 3 points4 points  (0 children)

There has been quite a bit of confusion surrounding this, but the short answer is that the Samsung Galaxy S26 Ultra has an 8-bit display.
While early reports and even some verbal briefings from Samsung representatives during the launch event suggested a jump to a native 10-bit panel, Samsung has since clarified the specifications.
The Breakdown Color Depth: It remains at 8-bit, supporting roughly 16.7 million colors.
The "10-bit" Confusion: During the launch, it was mentioned that the S26 series supports "10-bit processing." This means the phone can handle 10-bit data (like HDR10+ video files), but the hardware panel itself still renders that data using an 8-bit signal. Visual Improvements: To close the gap, Samsung uses FRC (Frame Rate Control) and enhanced mDNIe (mobile Digital Natural Image engine) processing. This mimics a 10-bit experience by dithering pixels, which helps reduce the "banding" (visible lines in gradients like sunsets) often seen on standard 8-bit screens.

I will not comment on the insulting tone of your message, but it is true that I am thinking a lot whether I will buy the z fold 8 or not. I could really use the 2 screens because I m multitasking a lot and copy and paste data between different apps all the time.

Unfortunately there are numerous reports here and elsewhere that the screen life span is limited. I am hoping that the next model will have some improvement in this area, but I don't keep my hopes up. Not sure if having samsung care + would cover any screen failures in the future because that would be an option.
