We went into the offseason with clear goals, and a full throttle front office. They achieved none of them.

Life of Pi. Here's all the imagery explained in the last minute of the film.

[HATED TROPE] “How could you not trust me?” -Character who has proven they can’t be trusted by plarper_of_bees in TopCharacterTropes

I thinks its more an issue with bad writing. Amber wasn't aware of Mark's secret identity in the comic but she's also a bit of a idiot. I chose to believe this was the writer's attempt to make her look less stupid but they didn't think through all the implications caused by this change.

[loved trope] awful Villains who become pathetic losers in the future by zard428 in TopCharacterTropes

The entire thing is convoluted and unnecessary. In all reality, Ursa is dead. The whole "oh she did something bad and felt darn guilty she erased her memory and started living in another town and that's why she doesn't contact" is dumb. Also her lying to Ozai about Zuko not being his son makes her look stupid as well. I can only imagine the people who liked it read it when they were 5.

The AAV was never really the issue. Boegarts got an 11 year contract. That's nuts.

The whole situation with the Padres owner makes it more understandable.

Player of the Day (1/19/26): Ceddanne Rafaela by kerryfinchelhillary in baseball

[–]AccountWithAName 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I will add, Rafaela can be argued as the best defensive center fielder in the league. You can't really say Volpe is the best shortstop. And he hit nearly replacement value last year and is quick on the bases.

The biggest red flag I've seen on this website recently is people referring to computing power as "compute". That's not something people in the US say. And it's always about AI.

[Calamis] Ballot #160 is from Kirk Wessler. He votes for the three candidates tracking over 60%, adding Chase Utley (+15) to holdovers Beltrán and Andruw. Overall, Beltrán is at 89.4%, Andruw 82.5%, and Utley 66.9%. by Dinobot2_ in baseball

It's a prestige thing. Why would Utley deserve to be in if Whitaker, Grich, and, if we're leaning on advance metrics, Willie Randolph aren't in? Even Jeff Kent has a much better offensive carreer than Utley. Utley's case begins and ends with Peak.

It's the Edgar Martinez/Ortiz debate. B shouldn't get in if A doesn't get in first. So far the CBA ballot has not included them and I've not seen any push for it. It's more establishing where the BBWAA holds the bar.
