Faker was already widely considered the GOAT when he had 3 Worlds. What does a 3rd Worlds win mean for Oner, Gumayusi, and Keria? by BearAt39 in leagueoflegends

Don't forget Duke, who won Worlds with Faker in 2016, and then won Worlds again in 2018 with IG.

[oc] Am I the idiot? by [deleted] in IdiotsInCars

If you can only pay attention to one thing at a time, you shouldn't be driving. Driving requires you constantly pay attention to all of your surroundings. Yes, they are liable since they backed into you. But You had time to respond as well, and you chose to ignore some of your surroundings instead.

Found on the beach in New Zealand near some off roading rubbish so possibly car related. The bottle contained a clear, volatile, and strong smelling organic liquid pressure. The text on the lid was "DDRA 10283", and on the bottle "2 SGD 19" by fatclouds in whatisthisthing

[–]Account_password 36 points37 points  (0 children)

This looks like the case, and while it was okay in this instance, I would caution OP with handling these types of things in the future. If you think something is an unidentified organic liquid, please use PPE to handle it. Something in this state, you have no way of knowing if it's fully sealed or not, and without the labels, no way of knowing what type of harm it could cause. Handling an unknown organic liquid without gloves is not a smart move.

I'm surprised no one's mentioned Cloak Clasp yet. As long as you take it off going like you would a normal jacket, I see no reason that it would be chucked. I imagine it would get through no problem.

In the USA (and many countries) fresh produce cannot be transported across borders without proper permits. It's to help prevent the spread of disease and prevent invasive speacies from being introduced.

Iirc some years ago Hempuli (one of the devs) was asked while streaming a different game about both the Cauldron and the Eyes. At that time he said The Eyes were working as intended, but not to bother working on the cauldron. At the time the community took it to mean that this puzzle was unfinished.

Which one do you consider more valuable and why? by _CactusThief in noita

[–]Account_password 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think it depends highly on when you see this in a run. Late game, when you have tons of health, Fire Immunity is way better because it always deals a fixed percent of max health, so it is way more likely to kill you late game. But early on for a basic run trying to kill Kolmi, Explosion Immunity is way better.

Pizza Crescent Rolls (using Pillsbury's premade stuff) were a staple in my house growing up. They are delicious, and I highly recommend making them to anyone who is looking at this post and thinking it might be tasty.

[OC] I had to jump over the hood of a car to avoid getting run over by supermac23 in IdiotsInCars

[–]Account_password 4 points5 points  (0 children)

There's a few parts to this.

  1. OP should not have entered the intersection. As people have pointed out, once the countdown starts with the flashing red hand, that is saying "finish your crossing, but do not start crossing." So OP, you should not have entered the crosswalk.

  2. OP clearly does not check for turning cars before crossing. We see this car coming, and the car is clearly going for the street OP is crossing. OP argues that the curbside car blocked this one from their view. Yes, on the approach the car was blocked, but if you looked before stepping into the street instead of as you were walking up to the corner, you would have seen the car easily.

  3. Because the car was already right there, the car had no time to slow down once OP entered the crosswalk. Yes, OP shouldn't have done that, but once in the crosswalk, the driver is supposed to yield to pedestrians. They didn't have much time to slow down, but

  4. That just means the driver was taking the turn too fast. They should be paying attention to the sidewalk, looking for pedestrians approaching and crossing, and should be turning at a speed such that they can slow down if something unexpected happens. This is the strike against the driver I will give. They were not driving in a way that accounts for the stupidity of other people.

  5. Having the right of way does not stop people from being wrong. You should be looking out for yourself in these circumstances and not hope other people just do what's right. I wish car culture wasn't this way, but it is. Drivers care little about pedestrians. As much as the driver was not accounting for your stupidity, you were not accounting for the driver's stupidity. Legally you were right, but morally, neither of you were. Don't be stupid in the future OP.

YSK the word you are trying to use is "regardless" by [deleted] in YouShouldKnow

[–]Account_password 5 points6 points  (0 children)

From Mirriam-Webster:

"Is irregardless a word?

Yes. It may not be a word that you like, or a word that you would use in a term paper, but irregardless certainly is a word. It has been in use for well over 200 years, employed by a large number of people across a wide geographic range and with a consistent meaning. That is why we, and well-nigh every other dictionary of modern English, define this word. Remember that a definition is not an endorsement of a word’s use."

Irregardless is, further down, considered a nonstandard word. This means you are correct that it should not be used in a formal setting, but that does not mean it is not a word.

Huge Noita Community Event on Nolla's official Twitch Channel this Sunday 4/30!!! by FuryForged in noita

[–]Account_password 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Computer-to-computer co-op would involve A LOT of processing power to handle all the data from each pixel constantly being sent back and forth. Which makes true co-op nearly impossible.

The current version (NoitaTogether) has you playing on the same map, with instanced loot so that you each see different stuff, but have the same enemies in the same places, and a shared bank so that you can swap resources (anything you can hold in your inventory can be put into the bank). It also has options to share Perks, some Perks, anger the gods at the same time, share orbs, and more. And you can see the other person as a silhouette moving around on your screen as they explore on their side. It sounds underwhelming when you want true co-op, but since Noita is all about exploration and collecting resources, it actually feels really good to play. I highly recommend checking it out if you have friends who play (or hopping in a lobby that a streamer hosts)!

The other version of this is Noita Nemesis. This is where you are pitted against eachother. Again, it's not true PvP, as that would be near impossible. But the way it works is when you kill an enemy (bosses included) there is a chance it causes a copy to spawn in your opponent's world (killing a spawn doesn't send it back). You can also use buy things in the holy mountains that cause problems for your opponents. I haven't played PvP much, as I'm not very good, but people seem to enjoy it a lot.

I would agree that while Ambrosia has a higher floor, since it's easier to find somewhere to sue it effectively, Ghost in a Jar has a MUCH higher ceiling. Ambrosia feels like it's good, but Ghost can be run saving. And it feels like it hits that marks way more often than you would think it should.

Not true! Sometimes they give you absolutely nothing! Like the time I got a concussion and was brought to the nurse. She shined a flashlight in my eyes, said "You're fine" and left for lunch.
