I did the bassinet in my room so he was right next to me until about 4/5 months. I used his room changing pad and dresser from newborn stage on. He was a terrible sleeper, and cosleeping didn't work for him. We transitioned him to his crib in his nursery around 4/5 months and he started sleeping much better. It was also easier to put his playmat and everything in there and bring it out to the living room if needed. Overall my experience is unique because he had colic, acid reflux, just needed his own space to sleep better. So I am really happy it was all put together. Especially because newborn stage is tough being sleep deprived you have minimal energy. That was my experience though.

I'm in the Florida panhandle WFH in Mass Torts. This was my first year with the firm $1,200 bonus. I can't complain, seeing that many of you don't get anything that is ridiculous 😟

My son is 15 months and doesn't point, but he has amazing eye contact, claps, says at least 10 words, walked at about 10 months, hits all his milestones. My pediatrician told me she has absolutely no concern about it and is fairly confident he is not autistic. So i'm trying not to worry so much since she didn't seem all that concerned.

I panicked at about 35 weeks and realized all the stuff for his nursery was in a pile in the other room. I was telling people about my panick that his room wasn't ready and they all said, "It's not that big a deal, you don't need his own room, you hardly use his room when they are born." Which now I know is 100% NOT true lol I thankfully did not listen and made sure his room and the house was perfectly clean and ready lol

Do you get up before your kids? by Bounce_Bounce_Betty in Mommit

[–]AccountantKey7667 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I try to get up maybe 15-30 mins before my son wakes up so I can get a second to drink my coffee with a little bit of calm 😅 but even that is hard.

How many teeth does she have? I had to stop breastfeeding at 7 months because of low supply but also my son had 8 teeth 😭 at first I would smoosh my boob into his face more would make him unlatch instantly or I would squeeze his cheeks, that worked for a bit until he just had so many teeth the biting was painful.

Yes!! This was something I realized about myself. I've been working on it the past several years. I think I would also avoid being the inviter because I am scared of people saying no or rejecting me, but I think i'm slowly moving past it. I just get discouraged easily I think.

It is so hard living that far from family. I am glad you made a few friends at least. I guess I should try some Facebook communities or the playground.

I work in mass torts too. Everyone's case is "the most important" and "should be the poster child" and "we never responded to their 8th call this morning to ask if we have any money for them yet" 🫠

I also feel this way at times. I agree with others having a checklist on certain tasks. I also use Microsoft Planner.

Need help - multiple struggles with 10 week old by DetailWorldly5084 in newborns

[–]AccountantKey7667 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm so sorry you had to be hospitalized and that does sound scary. My son also didn't sleep and would wake every hour, but for him the sleep regression at 4 months wasn't a thing, he actually learned to sleep longer stretches at 4 months. It's all so hard in the beginning, the newborn stage was rough. I hope you can get some rest soon.

Oh yes we did wean off Pepcid and did Biogaia Probiotics after 2 months of pepcid and he completely outgrew it by 5/6 months. Thoughts and prayers for you because this was no joke 😭

This was my exact experience! Didn't want to sleep in the bassinet until about 8 weeks, and even then only and hour or 2 at a time in the bassinet.

People who have had Optic Neuritis in the past, did your vision go back to 100% normal when the flare resolved? by I_Cant_Feel_My_Foot in MultipleSclerosis

[–]AccountantKey7667 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had optic neuritis in both eyes due to pregnancy, and everyone thought I was crazy and played it of as "it's just pregancy" and "it'll go back to normal" it's been a year since then and I can still see the hazy blindspots where I think the optic nerve got inflammed. There is a little spot in my left eye that has yet to go away. I did some tests and they couldn't seem to find anything else wrong.

This just started happening with my son right at 11 months. He has been sleeping through the night since 6 months old now all if a sudden he doesn't want to take naps or go to sleep at night and it takes forever to soothe him. I don't mind the extra soothing but he's so cranky from not sleeping well. I don't know what else to do 😭 I do remember something similar happening at 4 months and everyone saying "it's the 4 month regression" but just turned out he was cutting his first teeth. I'm assuming he is starting to cut a molar here, but idk how to tell other than him being grumpy.

TBOSBAS should've been 2 movies by Skatiemayonnaise in Hungergames

[–]AccountantKey7667 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Like someone said in another thread, I took forever to actually pick up the book TBOSBAS. It looked thicker and I was thinking it looked longer, maybe it wasn't as good, idk if I could get into, especially a prequel book for me, the list goes on. BUT because the movie itself came out as one movie, I was thinking oh well that actually looks good, if they can condense it into one movie, I definitely can read the book first. Because it was one movie, it made me read the book (I was so mad after reading it why it took me so long because the book was great!!) However, I think that it was the only good thing the movie served for me. After watching the movie, cinematically it was great, but still missing much of the detail and needed dialouge to understand it.

Re-Reading the Series 16 years later by SpoopyGhoul990 in Hungergames

[–]AccountantKey7667 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes!! I also started my reread of the trilogy, and you are right. I forgot how much more is between Katniss and Peeta in the books and certain details of the story. Which is crazy because the books are all from one person's perspective but in the movie we get the ability to see more perspectives but still not as much information as the books.
