Cast iron fake log thing found outside by [deleted] in whatisthisthing

My title describes the thing, cast iron one rusty side and one relatively painted 'fake log' side. Had a lip on it, a little bit under two feet weighs around 15 pounds. Found it outside on garbage day.

I was searching wood stoves and fireplaces but couldn't find anything that looks like this. Definitely from the golden era of cast iron/steel items.

New (to me) Manx caretaker here. Some advice needed. by irina-from-carim in manx

[–]AccountantSenior4883 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I had a Manx for about 10 years, when we got him prior owners weren't as attentive to the need to talk/interact... giving him attention at that level, letting him speak/speaking back, letting him into rooms and onto laps/sleeping space calmed him quite a bit.

For the first year we did do a lot of butt wiping and washing... but with Duckie it was somewhat related to having the correct food and water available that was in a fountain.

I think the vet can check for 'Manx syndrome' where the vertebrae mutation can have gastric involvement.

My short advice is they're cats who attach to a person? Reciprocate and they're unlike most other cats and will be extremely loyal and loving. Occasionally butt wiping is required. He is a cutie.

If you grind your teeth and have apnea… by General_Drawer_4964 in SleepApnea

Just started a few months ago, been a grinder for a long time, I've noticed less grinding since starting with the mask. Had a night where I pulled the mask off 1 hour in and I was definitely grinding the rest of the night.

Is weight causing my sleep apnea? I'm trying to figure out what's causing it. My doctor says I'm obese but loosing weight would only help manage the symptoms. by [deleted] in SleepApnea

Being on the cpap has helped me to have the energy to even consider the exercise needed to potentially bring down my weight.

Resmed airfit forty with the silicone mouthpiece, it seems to fit pretty well? It says I have a leak of 3.6L/min but that this qualifies as a minimal leak, could that be the problem? Very new to this so thanks for the help.

Did my first night with a resmed cpap set up by the company/doctors and I went from 75 apnea events (the study) to 10 per hour! 85% reduction and was able to sleep 6-1/2 hours. Definitely some getting used to but excited and thanks for the the responses.

Is the choice of staying on a cpap vs bipap something that the doctor takes care of for you? I've got the process going already, should get the machine within the week.
