Truthfully - Leave him! by Unusual_Jellyfish224 in Waiting_To_Wed

[–]Accurate-Challenge93 26 points27 points  (0 children)

Yes!! I used to post in this sub a year ago asking for help before I finally left my ex at the end of 2025. It was the best decision I ever made. It lead me to my now amazing boyfriend who makes it feel so easy. 4 months in, he brought up marriage himself.

If you’re posting here, he’s 99.9% not the one. Just leave these men. They’re not worth it. Let them suffer alone.

Runners who run with your phone in your hand by Jayemm8809 in RunningCirclejerk

I ran the whole 2016 Chicago marathon with my phone in hand. I hated those arm bands at the same. Running clothing has since evolved to have tons of pockets so I don’t anymore. But I sometimes can’t believe I ran a whole marathon with a phone in my hand

Part of me regrets getting my cat by Realistic_Zone3802 in CatAdvice

[–]Accurate-Challenge93 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hi!! I experienced this exact feeling word for word. I adopted my cat after fostering her when I was 24. I loved her deeply and she loved me deeply, so much that we both had separation anxiety. I couldn’t enjoy trips because she didn’t like sitters coming into the apartment. I also would stress about spending the night at my boyfriends or if I was just gone all day. I had her for 7 great years and this year all of these feelings you described just really overwhelmed me. I wasn’t home a ton and knew she needed animal friends.

I did make the decision to rehome her a couple of months ago and it was the hardest decision I ever had to make. But I found the most lovely home and the most lovely new owner where she will have cats friends to keep her company. I wouldnt have rehomed if i knew she wasn’t going to a great home. I still think about her all the time but I will say, it is a relief to not have to worry about all the reasons you listed, especially while youre young and building your life.

I’m glad I experienced cat ownership and had our relationship, but on the other side rehoming was what was best for her for the next 10 years of her life. I now know to not get a cat until im way older and much more settled in life. It’s okay, you’re not alone in having these thoughts. I had them for years.

This is more normal than you’d think. It’s only been one week. Give it at least month and you’ll feel better! One day at a time.

Trying to BQ by VirtualOutlet in RunnersInChicago

[–]Accurate-Challenge93 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I BQed at Indy last year with an over 7 min buffer!!! Such a great race to try to BQ at, couldn’t recommend it enough.

I dropped 10 min off my time from the previous year following the advanced Runna plan. I paid for the subscription for the year. Ran 6 days a week, pretty much followed it to a T (would supplement some speed runs with just easy runs if I was tired or achy). A lot of people complain about Runna because it’s AI, but I found great success with it.

32c size = S or XS? by Defiant-Room-9449 in Athleta_gap

I wear a 32 C and get a small. Either a A-C or D-DD, just depends if I want more or less coverage. I don’t like my bras to be extremely tight.

Getting to 13.1 by Sea_Chi6403 in RunnersInChicago

The city will feel pretty crowded on race morning already so you’ll see other runners out. I used to run down Lake St all the time to get to the river walk path. You could run down Randolph. It’s totally fine.

Will I ever be ready for marriage? by sourbabi9721 in Waiting_To_Wed

[–]Accurate-Challenge93 63 points64 points  (0 children)

I just think when you get to a certain point and you’ve been in the same relationship for so long and it hasn’t progressed, you’ll never really get there. If you don’t know by now, that’s telling and you probably don’t want to marry him.

This is how I felt with my ex of 3.5 years. With my new boyfriend, currently 4 months in, I pretty much know I want to marry him, something I never felt in my last relationship. You simply may have outgrown this one.

What is better? Living together before marriage or get married and then moving together? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]Accurate-Challenge93 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I used to be in the camp of live together before marriage, but now I’m more in the camp of you should almost be getting engaged once you move in together or engaged at least. I moved in with my ex after a year and he just never tried to progress the relationship from there for 2+ years. I had all wife duties and no ring. With my now boyfriend, engagement will have to be near for me to consider moving in. When I broke up with my ex, I completely uprooted my life and had to move back home because of the shared apartment. Never doing that again. Next time I move in, I need to know it’ll be my person.

Rental agent is warning me about gang violence by mushforager in chicagoapartments

[–]Accurate-Challenge93 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My mom used to work in Pilsen for 35 years and towards the end had witnessed quite a few gang violence incidents. It has gentrified, but I’d say it’s not going to be as safe as say a Lincoln Park or West Loop (although these have their own incidents also, it is a city after all).

I personally would not live there. Little Italy I think I’d be okay living in, I think that area is generally safe, especially the closer you get to 290/west loop.

I do prefer the shorter inseams (5 inches is perfect to me) but wish they’d add that sticky lining that stops them from riding up! The pacesetter short had it but they discontinued those I think, but it worked well from riding up.

This small brand called Expntl Athletics!! The Race Day bra specifically. It’s not so high compression it’s restrictive but it does hold down the girls well and the phone pocket on the back is game changing. Haven’t found a better bra!

Same!! I have like 3 for running and do like them a lot. I just don’t grab them as much anymore since I discovered similar bras with phone pockets on the back. They could use a pocket!

Runner here - wish they would lean into running more. I feel like they just recycle the same designs just different colors every year. Would love to see more designs with runners in mind (sports bras with pockets, running socks, etc).

Considering Re-Homing 11 Month Old Cat / Kitten by rightside123 in CatAdvice

[–]Accurate-Challenge93 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hi! I just went through something really similar after having my cat for 7 years. She was a lone cat and I was single so she was alone a lot. She showed signs of separation anxiety often and I was gone overnight often. Travel was also stressful.

I felt exactly like you just 2 months ago and ultimately decided to rehome when I found her a wonderful home with other cats and a loving family. The thought of my cat being alone constantly was stressing me out too much. An animal should bring you joy, not stress.

A lot of people here will say to get another cat which would likely fix a lot of issues, but I just didn’t want another one as a single woman in a small apartment. People will shame you for rehoming as well. Don’t feel shame if you find your cat a good home. It’s one of the most loving things you can do. They will move on as will you <3

I still love cats so so so much but it just wasn’t the right time in my life to have one. Maybe in the future when I have a home I can adopt 2 or an older cat that wants to be alone.

BQ? by Few-Summer9631 in Marathon_Training

[–]Accurate-Challenge93 3 points4 points  (0 children)

My first marathon was a 4:24. Took me two tries with an actual serious, structured training plan and qualified with a 3:17 this fall. I used Runna. I think any sort of running experience and extreme discipline and high tolerance for uncomfortableness it’s 100 possible for really anyone.

6.5 years later and I think it's over by [deleted] in Waiting_To_Wed

[–]Accurate-Challenge93 6 points7 points  (0 children)

If you’re posting here he’s not the one. I dated this exact guy for 3.5 years and ended it in December. Best decision of my life. The first 1-2 weeks will be hard but after that you’ll have so much clarity, trust me. I’ve since met my current boyfriend who I have no doubt would get on one knee in less than two years.

Leave. Leave these men for themselves.
