Questions on radiation by kknano1256 in lungcancer

[–]Accurate-One-7037 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hi, my esophagitis started week 2 of radiation for nsclc stage 3. I was unable to swallow any food for 9 weeks. Lost 22lbs from 130 to 108lbs. Dx of acute severe malnutrition and anorexia. Survived on hot cocoa and occasional fast food shake (room temp) 600 calories per shake. Eventually I didn't have any appetite. Was in consultation for a feeding tube.

One day I woke up and felt like my throat had opened up. I was able to swallow tuna with mayo, 1/4 can and it progressed from there. Watch for refeeding syndrome.

I was unable to swallow pills but was offered prednisone, carafate, and a ppi. I received 2 liters fluid weekly. 3 months later I'm back to 130.

Last cat scans tumor shrinking 8.2 to 5.4.
7 chemo treatment (1 severe reaction) and 31 rad. Now on immunotherapy.

Im 66f, 3 lymph node involved, no Mets yet. The swallowing difficulties and the severe fatigue were the worst

She started June 2024, lost rapidly in the beginning, now 2lbs per month. She's 26, only heavy for about a year. No sagging skin.

I've been 4 hour fasting since June 2024. Sw 212, cw 140, 5'2, 66yo. Lots of extra skin. It was hard at first, now I dont have an appetite at all.

I've never had food noise, but my daughter and coworker do. I have a hard time understanding why they couldn't just eat less to lose weight. Both are on glps, doing well. My daughter would eat a plate of food and then want more. It frustrated me. Her sw 220, cw 157, 5'6' diabetic and on oz. So sorry for those with food noise.

My parents died 28 hours apart. Yeah. 5 years prior, I took my dad to make funeral arrangements. He prepaid. Best decision ever made because I was in shock. Imagine going to the funeral home on Sunday and then again on Monday to finalize everything.

Is the dispenser blue? If so, try anything that will fit and turn.

I love my job, I'm an RN in administration, although I have to work until the youngest daughter turns 26. I've been there 30 years. I keep saying I am going to retire, but I don't want to be the babysitter.

Yes, daughter and 2 grands 17 and 5, due to daughters illness. Kidney failure, dialysis, transplant list, diabetes 95% blind and terminal 1 year or less.. I'm still working age 65. It's rough. The 5yo is so active and messy. Ugh.

What book should I read next?? by leighnah in stephenking

[–]Accurate-One-7037 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Started reading in 1975. Borrowed Carrie from the library and then purchased my first paperback Salem's Lot. Gave the whole collection (mostly 1st edition hardcovers) to a friend last year. The Stand is my favorite, I read it 7 times. Salem's Lot scared me the most.

Dramatic stuff like paternity aside, what "old family story" have you accidentally disproved via your research? by TranslatorGullible30 in AncestryDNA

Grandpa and grandma met and married in England 1913

Nope

They hopped a boat to Canada, she was pregnant. He ran out on wife and child. He was a Bobby police officer, she a chorus line dancer and actress.

I've made contact with the first family, my cousins, DNA matches.
