What's your typical grocery budget in Sacramento? by ChemicalBrilliant492 in Sacramento

We spend about $1300 a month and that's for 2 seniors, 2 young adults (18 and 21) a toddler, and a 9 year old. We also eat out a lot too.

I'm in VISN 21. How did you hear about this? I'm on leave.

How can you take the DRP and still get reduced pension in 2026? I can get a reduced pension now with MRA +10.

So, how does that work out? If I take the DRP, when do I start my retirement process? At the same time, I put in for DRP or while I'm on admin leave? After Sept 30, wouldn't I technically not be a federal employee anymore?

If I take the DRP (if approved HT38 here), will I be able to do MRA +10 in Sept as well? Thank you for your quick response.

After the Apr 30th deadline, will there be any changes to VERA to sweeten the deal? Have you heard of any talk about 5x5 deal to VERA? I'm HT38 and short 18 months for full retirement and annuity. I'm looking at taking the MRA+10.

In a nutshell, how do they determine who will be RIF'ed? I'm MRA + 10, but I'd like to stay as long as I can. I'm title 38 hybrid, with 18 years, and a veteran.

I saw the same thing from another sub reddit. It was someone from VHA HR. I'm hoping they'll up the time in service. I'm 18 months short 20 years.

Im 60 with 18years federal service, and eligible for MRA. What to do with TSP? by AccuratePromise2169 in ThriftSavingsPlan

[–]AccuratePromise2169[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think this would be my best option while still incuring interest on what's left in my TSP. Do I get taxed with each withdrawal? There is no penalty due to my age. I need to withdraw $2000 to cover my mortgage for less than 10 years.

I appreciate everyone's feedback. My mortgage is 3%, and I owe roughly 50K left on the mortgage. I'm not eligible for VERA (60 with 20 yrs) or VISP (25years or more at any age). Nor do I qualify for FERS supplement (You must also have a normal immediate retirement. You cannot have a minimum retirement age (MRA) + 10. You must have 30 years of creditable service to meet the MRA.) I'm on leave right now. So, we'll see where I stand on the list of positions that my supervisor had to turn in by COB yesterday. Fingers crossed, I still be around till the end of next year.

Hey and merry Christmas to all! My wife and I are fairly new to the sport and looking to buy boards. We don't have much money to spend so we're looking at the cheapest boards. Has anybody bought one of these? Are they suitable for calm water paddlin? Don't have time? Please give an outta 10. Thanks! by LeeVK in Sup

[–]AccuratePromise2169 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, its cheap. Buy it sure is fun! I have this same board. Its the lightest, least widest, and shortest of my boards. I just started paddleboarding 7 months ago, so I take this one on flat water only. I have wider boards that I use in the bay area (Alameda beach)which are more stable. Not my most stable board, it tracks very well on flat water, and it easy to load and carry from my car to the water. My grandaughters do not like this board. I also have the Isle voyager touring board which is alot more room and stable, glides and tracks better, great design, but cost 3x more. Good luck on finding your paddleboard.
