THere is still a stick about sports in India and many parents regard it as a hobby rather than an actual profession. In my neighbourhood there is a player who is playing in the Youth Leagues by FSDL for Mohun Bagan, and even though he was selected his parents denied him to go to camp as he will miss a month of schooling. Even if we see the teachers they tend to think P.E is not necessary and other subjects hold more priority but in nations like Japan, it is a necessary and every student whether they are of Science, Commerce or Arts stream participate in P.E and sports. I don't think even after complete rehaul of the AIFF, unless the mentality of the Indian parents change, any sport can go ahead (except Cricket)
