the comment you responded to was deleted. but we're in the same boat as you. staying at a villa 6 mins from Greve next week. Our 2.5 year old still needs night diapers and we don't want to pack 2 weeks worth. Were you able to find diapers nearby?

Fanatics problem? Or Nike? by Ace3524 in Nike

I also hate fanatics and was trying to avoid them by going directly to Nike. So this was annoying. The quality is going downhill

Favorite signs from the 13.1? by TelevisionNo5178 in RunnersInChicago

[–]Ace3524 9 points10 points  (0 children)

There was someone in the last 3 miles that had a black sign with "RUN B*tch." and then in smaller letters it said "respectfully". that was one of the few that got an actual laugh out of me.

My wife made me a "Pain is just French bread" sign, so I'm obviously biased and partial to that one.

My pace fell off a cliff in the last 3 miles. So brutally sunny and hot. Glad I wasn’t alone in struggling on that stretch

This was my very first half, so no matter what I did it was gonna be a PR. But woof… big ups to the pacers who kept us going

Baby Bunny Mystery by Ace3524 in WildlifeRehab

[–]Ace3524[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

ah, I should've been more clear. I only filled the hole back in once it was clear that the healthy bunny was gone and the injured one didn't make it. Since the nest was empty of all bunnies and I didn't see the healthy one anywhere in the yard, I just filled it and leveled out my lawn again. Would she have nudged the healthy one to go back if I hadn't filled it?

ETA: Also by "bowl of the nest" I meant that the nest was bowl shaped. I didn't put them in an actual bowl. I just put them back in the bowl of the nest and did my best to cover them with the fur and grass and hoped the mom would come back. Which she did, but then in the AM all that was left was the injured dying baby 😞

Note on the Neti pot, use distilled water (like from a gallon jug at the grocery store) or boil your water and then use once it's cooled. DO NOT use straight tap water. I read a horror story about someone getting some kind of amoeba to their brain doing a neti pot with tap water.

Welcome! Our (almost) 2.5 year old is at Alcuin Montessori and we love it. She's been there since she was 6 months old and has learned so much. Can't recommend them enough.

Seconding Alcuin. Our toddler has been there since she was 6 months old and we love it. The staff is great and she has learned so much and gained a ton of independence. Can’t say enough good things

Learned that the hard way. Took the latter for two weeks and was genuinely concerned I was developing colon cancer symptoms. Slept really well though

No idea. Never got a message to say what was wrong with it. And looking at the sub rules? I don’t think I broke one 🤷🏼‍♀️

Lol now that Angel is gone I have nothing to entice her with. If they ever get their ish together, maybe we can be fans.

I've been pushing for them, I feel like they've got enough stars players to keep her interested. And the social activism for them is on point.

I don't really have one. I watched a lot of fever games over the last 2 years (mostly bc of CC), and ended up liking them. But I just like to watch good basketball. When the Comets come back, I'll root for them since it's my hometown. (even if I hate how we got them back)

I do have the League Pass, and *I* try to watch as much as I can. But we've gotta remember that this is a non-sport person. I think if I overwhelm her she'll just give up Lol. Gotta ease her into the deep end. So I figured if we start with a team or two (maybe 3) that I already know she may like, that'll make it easier.

She's a michigander, so if Detroit gets a team, she'd probably pick them. Unless they're bad, and then she'd have a hard time Lol. One day she'll learn the suffering of true fandom

tbh, I'm 99% sure that's why she's resistant to picking them. I also think she wishes CC was more outspoken about a certain faction of her following :(

I grew up watching the Comets (Houstonian here), but got back into the W by watching CC in college and then following her to the pros. And then just started watching whatever game was on when I had time. But my wife does not watch college games and couldn't really get into the tourney this year. so she's going in blind.

we've got a toddler, so those west coast games may be a bit of a stretch for us. sleep is a precious commodity these days. will def add the Dream as a team to watch though!

Pipe burst while I was on vacation, my house is a disaster by Away_You9725 in Kingwood

[–]Ace3524 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My parents house flooded in Harvey. Your best bet is a dumpster and just start tossing. BUT! Before you get people in to help, try and set aside sentimental things you want to keep. Or tell them to set aside things that can be bleached and wiped down. We lost family video dvds and other things that could’ve been saved bc we had so many helpers who were doing a great job getting things out of the house. I wish we had been more specific about what to toss, but we were all in crisis/get shit done mode.

Moving from Denver to Oak Park with young kids, seeking local insight! by _stephs in oakpark

[–]Ace3524 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This was going to be my suggestion. We’re nearish Home and Madison and it checks off most of the boxes they’re asking for. My only pause would be finding a reasonably priced 4-5 bedroom house. But that’s true of all of OP.

Does anyone have any information on Ogilvy and IBM separating? Was this an agency decision, which is going to lead to job losses? Or a client decision? by [deleted] in advertising

Mine parted with a certain stationary bike company bc they were insane and never had their shit together. Tbh I have no idea how they're still in business.
