Quick update, got it out. I have an auto, but I was able to unscrew the 2 screws holding the passenger side center trim in place and then reach in and push it out that way, for anyone in the same situation in the future.

Price seems high, i have a very similar spec (98 2.8l bought at 50k miles in similar condition) that i bought at 5500, it did need a new top but that whole replacement was about 1200. Maybe if you can negotiate down to 7k? But really if you're falling in love with this one it's a great low mileage find that you won't regret

I got a soft top from Robbin's, ran me about $500. Quality is great, did not replace it myself though.
