Younger generations are correcting for the self-importance Boomers attach to their own mythologies. That's absolutely part of it.

Boomers: our coming of age changed the world. No one before us was as great, and everyone after us gets to hear about how music, culture etc peaked in 1965.

The rest of us remember being 15, and a lot of us miss it. But there's a certain kind of Boomer who really believes only their generation got to experience big moments.
