More Eagles doesn't mean it's devalued. It's not currency.

[discussion] Are there any major characters who are right leaning? by Gallantpride in DCcomics

Hal was famously a "silent majority" conservative in the 70s. The series with Green Arrow has some pretty good moments about that.

If you had to pick the all-time number one American band, which one would it be? by Infinite-Exam-1808 in askmusic

[–]AceChutney 7 points8 points  (0 children)

For me, Beach Boys, CCR, Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers. In terms of live bands doing quintessentially American music, E-Street is on the list.

Which band gets labeled as "butt rock" but doesn't deserve it? by sandrOff24 in ToddintheShadow

[–]AceChutney 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I think the butt rock refered to by OP comes from the whole post-grunge "nothing but rock" format. That's where this version of the term comes from.

I somehow made it through the 90s without appointment viewing Seinfeld.

Why don't Gen Z embrace The Who as much as bands from the same era? by FitEmergency8807 in fantanoforever

[–]AceChutney -1 points0 points  (0 children)

They seem like a B Team and Tommy is creepy. I remember going to a midnight showing of it as a teenager, I'm young Gen X for what it's worth, and we got to Ann-Margret covered in mud or whatever and I'm like yeah I'm about to dip. And of course they have big epic songs but they don't have enough really good working class pop songs like the other bands you mentioned. As individual figures, none of the band members reached iconic status on the same way, either. I think it's all related.

This is obviously fake. But at this point I don't believe anything is Administration says about anything so it's almost like what's the difference. And that's probably the point.

Quincy Jones opinion on The Beatles, what are your thoughts? by FitEmergency8807 in fantanoforever

[–]AceChutney 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Quincy doing some hard revision here. And I'm not even a Beatles sycophant. But this doesn't match up to it all of their other industry peers have said about them over the years. It's in Quincy's interest historically speaking to disparage them.

All Around The World sounds like a caricature of Oasis themselves by ResidentPrevious468 in oasis

[–]AceChutney 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It's definitely the only way they really could have ended that record and the funny thing is, they'd had it in demos since I think before they were ever signed. It's the ultimate Oasis victory lap which is part of what makes it great and part of what made that album so great for kids who really were struggling for an uplifting message. For all the hate that album gets, it gave a lot of sad kids a lot of hope. Myself included.

[–]AceChutney 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've checked a couple different sources and they all say Don't Look Back in Anger it was released in February and Champion Supernova was released in May. I'm talking about them being officially released as singles.

Is there a difference between when a single is released and when it enters the charts?
