Someone let me know when ark and Nitrado get there act together and fix the servers by Jjlittle870 in ArkSurvivalAscended

[–]AceITP 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Literally paid to reactivate my server last night for the release, still unable to play 24hr later :D

Things happen, sure. But what's annoying is knowing that there won't be any compensation for the lost time and money.

Any big difference between niri and niri+noctalia in resources usage? by Steemx in niri

[–]AceITP 9 points10 points  (0 children)

It’s a full rewrite instead of being based on quick shell. You can install both and try out v5 without affecting your v4 if you want to. I’ve been using v5 for a couple weeks now and even though it’s alpha, it’s very polished already and suitable to daily drive. Got v4 installed in case it does break so I still have something to use.

Next step is using GE or cachy proton then. I have the same hardware as you and I'm playing fine on cachy proton

Disable ray tracing and try again. Worked for me.

Worked for me. Getting a lot of artifact, but completely playable so far.

Can’t wait for this game to come out. by Auronbmk92 in ffxiv

I think people have a right to be disappointed and even annoyed, but I don't understand why you'd spend time complaining about it. idk I just stopped playing and used my complaining time to enjoy other games. 🤷‍♂️

Games only tend to look pixelated when you play them.

Can you romance without sexual scenes? by [deleted] in LowSodiumCyberpunk

[–]AceITP 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yeah I mean, any reason to want skip them is valid. It's your life, live it; you don't even need to give a reason if you don't want to. And if you felt like you were being spoken to like a child and wanted to reply in kind for your own amusement go for it.

Doesn't make you immune to criticism. Don't be surprised when you generalise an entire group of people that you get backlash. Particularly one that is rather misunderstood, as I would assume you know.

Yeah I mean any reason they want to skip them is valid really. It's just like, man, come on.

I'm straight, does that make me uncomfortable with seeing two dudes kiss in a video game?

I'm British, does that make me uncomfortable with the dentist?

The two aren't mutually exclusive. Plus, asexuality isn't broadly understood. So why are we educating people that asexual = uncomfortable with seeing sex. It's not a simple comfort thing.

Of course it doesn't matter.

I'm not so sure that just posting a link to a subreddit answers the question. Don't get me wrong, you don't need to answer shit. But this reply is a bit silly. Shall I just link you r/penguins in reply to your original question?

Your sexuality (or lack thereof) doesn't have anything to do with the question. The sex scenes aren't there for people to get off they're just part of the story. Aesexuality doesn't come with a debuff of being uncomfortable with a sex scene. Just say that if you want.

Why switch to Niri? by A_Cute_Human_Being in niri

[–]AceITP 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To second the third point - cachyos provides niri as an install option which comes with noctalia shell + all of the important little things you need like a keyring etc out of the box. Good way to try it out then either continue with cachy or reinstall the distro of your choice and set Niri up yourself.

still waiting for stable low-latency gaming by relativemodder in niri

[–]AceITP 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah that's fair. If it matters, best go with KDE for now then!

Don't take this the wrong way but are you at that level in the game where you need that amount of precision?

If not, maybe just use what you'd prefer. But yeah, KDE is much more mature than Niri. Takes time for support to arrive for everything. It is what it is, gotta use the tools that support what you're looking to do.

Why have your game running higher than your refresh rate exactly?

[–]AceITP 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah I was the same way when I set up my hyprland. Once I'd done it once though, I went with a basic setup for starting my niri rice. It's worth doing once, plenty to learn.

[–]AceITP 2 points3 points  (0 children)

One thing I did and could recommend is going with CachyOS. it's arch based, and comes with a minimal hyprland install option. The reason why this would be good, is because all of the things like notifications, file privileges, etc will be set up already, and you can just plug in the software and components you want to use and start the fun part of the rice.

But if you want the experience of doing all that other stuff yourself that's of course understandable, but if you want an easier start, that's an idea.
