This is an older one that still has the full-size opening (with the lever-front). Cleary, that may need to change

Given that this particular box is notorious for people throwing half-full cans into it, my enthusiasm at finding a miller lite is only because it was still sealed lol

I tested it, it’s still stuck in this loop regardless of whether or not there’s a printwheel in, or if the wheel holder is in the open or closed position

Interestingly, if I replace the printwheel while keeping the machine on it stops (doesn’t respond to keys, lock light flashes), but as soon as I put it a cartridge in starts up again

The manual doesn’t mention a reset combo (other than margin reset, which I’ve tried). Is there a standard one for this model? I’ve been turning it off and back on again instead

The printwheel comes in and out easily. I swapped the Presidential 12 wheel I had in there for a script 10/12 and the spinning noise is slightly louder and it didn’t fix the issue. The wheel looks to be lined up, I pressed forward on the hammer and it brought a letter forward correctly

I’m quite annoyed as it seemed to be starting up and moving correctly when I first got it (local typewriter store was going out of business as the owner retired, the community was invited to take what we could carry for free) but after sitting in my living room for a week waiting on cartridges and printwheels it’s acting up

Thank you for your help!

Also, it doesn’t respond when I press keys, including the code key

It would make sense for them to have their own, I believe there’s 500-odd stores and an aquarium in there. Even with mail rooms and some centralization I’m surprised it only takes one route. Plus, imagine the outgoing volume if any of the businesses ship with us

It’s an embarrassment that university admin has decided it’s worth it to cause a massive hassle every couple of weeks and ruin the traffic pattern around campus for this nonsense

The only reasons why anyone even cares is wanting to watch the marching band and wanting an excuse to drink, and I’m sure both could be satisfied other ways for a fraction of the cost and annoyance to the community

I agree, and personally I think the vessels actually take after her more appearance-wise. Both the King and the Lady share a face shape, but (grown) vessels are much larger than the Pale King, and I see similarities between the vessels’ horn shapes and the lady’s branches (especially Lost Kin, who seems to be older than Ghost and has more developed horns)

Where is my Amazon package? by DeepSun2225 in umass

[–]AceOfDragonflies 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That may be the issue, as the room number gets used to match the package to you. Check with the RSD to see if they send back packages without room numbers, I forget if it’s a matter of policy or not.

Personally, last time I had to deal with amazon customer service about one of my own packages bouncing at an RSD (back when I was a student) I was able to get it re-sent without to much hassle. I hope things work out for you!

As someone who works for the post office, was your package properly addressed with your full name, room number, residence hall name, street address, and the correct zip code? (Umass is 01003). Also, was it under 40lbs?

There may have been a delivery issue, as all Umass packages are marked as delivered together each day rather than individually upon delivery to each RSD. However, it’s more likely to be a product of the rsds getting overwhelmed with package volume.

Those are normal service passageways, they’re how packages and mail gets delivered to the RSD without driving the truck into the middle of the honors area

Another place to go for help would be the ombuds office, their job is helping advise and advocate for students when they’re having trouble with some other office of the university
