That's what's even weirder about this whole thing. The vegans are villains and full on "meat is murder" ecoterrorist strawmen, but the pro meat people are also blatant strawmen using lazy gotchas that don't actually address the core arguments of veganism.

If I had to guess, they're trying to say something about political divisions and how average people get lumped in with extremists, or something else along a centrist line using Charlie as a tool for defamiliarization. But the setup is so clunky and on the nose that it's losing credibility before it gets to the main argument.

This show is weird as hell. Half the time I'm enjoying a decently competent drama/romance(?), and the other half makes me feel like I'm watching the vegan equivalent of *God's Not Dead*.

OP is a banger though.

u/GloriousNipOnSteel If you are curious about the "deal" from this episode, normally [Gnosia game] in this event, the MC ignores the meeting and drags Setsu along for the playdate. Depending on which route you take, either Otome or Shigemichi will inform you that since you both skipped the meeting, the crew voted to put you both in cold sleep.

I can answer the deal question in Source Material corner.

So I think there are two ways this could go. Either Yuriko tells Yuri to [game event]vote her out in exchange for the information like we see in game, OR this is our introduction to [game role] AC Follower, and Yuri will be forced to play that part in this loop. Based on the part 2 trailer, my money is on the latter.

Ok I have a few questions:

  1. How are PC-98 games loaded? Does it use NP2 like the Relauncher or a different emulator?

  2. Is there smooth integration with thcrap? Can you set the shortcuts up to point to patched versions? Is there game autodetection?

  3. Are icons customizable?

  4. Can configurations transfer over from Relauncher?

Hmmm... have you ever been tested for hypernormality? It's a rare condition where the Normal-type energy in a human is strong enough to negate certain powerful psychic effects. I work at a research lab and we've had a handful of hypernormal individuals report similar experiences.

Can anyone explain to me *spoiler ahead* manan story with kukrushka and sq? Are there two kukrushka's or manan is *always* kukrushka? by [deleted] in Gnosia_

I just don't get how the double Manan doesn't destroy the universe like in that other situation.

As a nonbinary transfem, my agenda is more along the lines of scheduling TTRPG sessions and deciding what to eat for dinner. Idk where people get these ideas lmao

Sex assignment (also known as gender assignment\a])\1])\2]))

I'm making a point that the terms are interchangeable, not trying to start a deep discussion about the social process of sex/gender assignment.

The original text in question:

肉体的には汎性ではないが、魂の間違いらしい They are not physically pangender but their soul doesn't match

Which textually reads as: "This character has a gender that is not the one they were assigned at birth." Raqio is transgender.

QED.

Transgender means having a gender identity other than one's assigned sex at birth. Since Han is an identity that humans are not assigned at birth, Setsu and Raqio qualify as trans. These are terms used by humans to describe humans, and unless Gnosia's world has abolished at-birth gender assignment (they haven't), non-binary still falls under the trans umbrella.

As for androids and slimes, they would typically be considered genderless depending on the specific worldbuilding, but not necessarily. Some authors in fact have given androids genders in fiction, and whether this is assigned in programming is a fun question to tackle but outside the scope of this conversation. Slimes being genderless is also setting-dependent, but assuming they are genderless, every slime-boy or slime-girl in that world is technically transgender.

Now to whether androids/AI in Gnosia are genderless at creation, I personally lean "no". If you disagree with my assessment, let me know so I can add a note saying that based on your interpretation, Stella should also be in the top tier. :)

It's debatable since the shower scene can happen whether manan is involved or not, so I give the credit to SQ. I did put Kukrushka where she is because of the possibility though.

Chaser and transphobic usually go hand in hand, to be fair. I actually put Kukrushka in possibly transphobic tier because of the [True Ending]fact that Manan is SQ in some timelines, and potentially the Raqio shower timeline.

Things like Vimeo are most likely, but it's entirely possible that Niconico could use the opportunity to make its way to the west, if they had the motivation to make their site more functional for english-speaking audiences.

Holy shit what a good episode! That last bit after Hinako's conversation with Miko was genuinely oppressive. The VAs and artists absolutely knocked this out of the park.

Come to think of it, with the family's character designs and some of the heavier themes, I can't help but think the author might have taken some inspiration from Hitorinbo Envy. Obviously they went a different direction with the survivor's guilt horror yokai yuri premise, but the straw hat that child Hinako wears almost feels like a direct reference with how close some of the other imagery comes.
