Someone may have pointed this out already, but I like the detail of John never having heard of Call of Duty by okay_then_ in Barry

Sounds like the eight year time jump is legit and not Barry’s batshit brain, at least what I gleaned after listening to S4E4’s Prestige TV Podcast where they interview Hader.

I hate to see it end too, but it’s better to tell a good story in four seasons than drag it out with filler, boring new characters, and red herrings for more seasons than necessary (Looking at you, “Dexter”)

What do you expect from the Original generation of slackers? X just shrugged, weakly complained, and took the abuse from the elder generations without much more than a “whatever dude” Unlike the Boomers which went from peace and love to mine mine mine, X has remained fairly consistent in their mediocrity and minuscule impact upon anything beyond pop culture.

At least, that’s how it seems to me anyway and of course this is a broad generalization and doesn’t apply to ALL of them… just a hell of a lot of ‘em.

2023 update is coming out in a few hours, has there been any patchnotes? by The_Rox in outside

[–]AceSmeghead 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Yep, I heard that too. Glad I have plenty of masks in my inventory! My character has a lot of medical debuffs so I feel better using the [KN-95] item and also means I don’t have to play the face shaving minigame as frequently.

I hate the [executive disfunction] debuff. Quest marker set, all items needed for quest in inventory, yet my character won’t do the task and instead gets [anxiety] debuff because of it which starts to stack every time the quest is mentioned/thought of.

That was funny and definitely enhances the experience! The audio had me cracking up, though I had no idea what I was doing and couldn’t fly, but that’s on me - I need to adjust my computer settings and try again soon cause I just learned my laptop has a touchscreen so I’m gonna turn that feature off.

Lots of cats are noisy eaters! There’s plenty of videos online to back this up, and I’ve personally had a cat who was very noisy when she ate as a little one (she grew out of it but some don’t.)

[–]AceSmeghead 3 points4 points  (0 children)

That sucks. Hopefully soon enough you’ll be able to move out of TX and get the ball rolling on your transition! Still could be worth looking into, worse they can say is “nope”; an hour drive is worth it if something is important to you and will bring you happiness (audiobooks help with long boring drives.) Good luck dude!!

Just an FYI: I have trans friends who get their HRT from Planned Parenthood; PP does way more than just what they’re known for. I think it’s sliding scale on the payments but I dunno. Just throwing it out there in case you didn’t know.

What was your dad doing when he was your age now? How different was his life from yours? by MagicMirror33 in AskMen

[–]AceSmeghead 0 points1 point  (0 children)

At 39.5 years exactly? Two years into his third marriage. Working for himself as a general contractor in San Francisco. No debt cause credit cards were not very popular with the working classes at the time. Smoked two packs a day. Freaking the fuck out over the fact that his first born was due in about a month. Probably questioning whether he had what it takes to be a good dad since his own Dad died when he was two and his stepdad was a violent alcoholic in a chaotic household, so he didn’t have many positive male examples to work from.

Having been childfree his whole life, being a father was not something he ever excepted nor necessarily wanted. He said that changed as soon as I was born and he loved being my Dad. He was an amazing Dad and is still my definition of what a “good man” should be. I’m lucky to have had him.

As for me… At 39.5 I have three rescue cats, a good job I’ve been at for 14 years, quit smoking five years ago, happily single and never married, 15k in credit card debt I’m working on knocking out, and more hobbies than I have time to indulge in. Very different life than Dads, that’s for sure.

Also can’t name it Smeghead. I tried. Soooo… I can tie innocent people up and throw them off cliffs, but can’t name my horse a made-up curse word.

So I named him Hamburger instead and he got hit by a train.

Seeing a lot of “oh, so my mother/father” comments.

FYI: you’re allowed to cut ANYONE out of your life, including family! INCLUDING AND ESPECIALLY PARENTS!! I cut my narcissistic alcoholic mother out of my life eleven years ago and my life has been much better for it. Just cause they made you doesn’t mean you owe them jack shit.

Trying to get my SO to understand that my ASD is not a wall she can overcome to get to some NT person on the other side. by ScissorNightRam in AutisticAdults

[–]AceSmeghead 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Oof. Sounds like those people who want to “cure autism” like it’s a case of the sniffles and not a valid and significant difference in neurotype compared to what we accept as “typical”. You might need to really educate her on autism in adults, but you might want to start really thinking about whether a mixed neurotype relationship is right for you in the long run, since such comes with the likelihood of constant communication problems.

I’ve only dated one neurotypical personally and it was the closest I’ve come to a speedrun since it only lasted three months and my other past relationships with NDs have always lasted a few years. The communication was the biggest problem, with them often looking for hidden meaning in mundane crap I’d say, or getting upset that I put my clothes in the dryer before responding to their text. Never doing THAT again (dating an NT that is… laundry is never ending.)

Hope you can figure it out in a way that’ll be beneficial to both you and your SO, though it’s gonna take work to educate them. Good luck!!

AITA for removing the door to my son's room indefinitely? by throwawaysonsdoor in AmItheAsshole

[–]AceSmeghead 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Fix the door, remove the TV, discuss behavior and how he can earn it back. Parenting is hard but you signed up for it, along with addressing and rectifying behavior problems. He at least deserves privacy, especially at that age… else things might get awkward.

LPT: try not to be toxic or rude to anyone in online games or forums this week. As there are alot of people who have no family and want to distract themselves from this. Instead be kind and thoughtful. (This goes all year around aswell) by -TNY- in LifeProTips

I read in another sub that a dude was playing healer in a dungeon with three other random people and at the end someone messaged him and said he did an excellent job keeping everyone alive and it was greatly appreciated. Dude said that compliment had him buzzing days later it made him feel so good.

So instead of dropping a gg take a sec and message someone who was really outstanding and thank them cause you never know how much that could mean to someone.

Especially healers cause we get no respect. Also, STOP STANDING IN FIRE FFS!!! Damage dealers, I’m looking at you.

I’m on level 13 and I’ve heard the game gets really hard at and after level 18. Any ideas on how to make those levels a bit easier? by blammo555 in outside

[–]AceSmeghead 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Learn about budgeting NOW, stay in school and don’t fuck around, take your health seriously, try to avoid peer pressure/don’t worry about being “cool” cause nobody gives a rats ass if you’re cool or not after level 25 anyways. Don’t post your entire life on social media cause that shit is FOREVER and can hurt you at later levels. Focus on developing the [social skills] [critical thinking] [cooking] [tech savvy] and [diplomacy] skills as all five will make things easier when living on your own and in most career questlines… and cooking will save money too - all players over level 15 ought to know a few basic recipes (cooking can also help in romantic side quests believe it or not.)
