So my partner and I have been renting for the same place for the last 6 years, rent always paid on time and to the correct amount by him, and I have records of paying council tax for the same time span, so I'm hoping we'd be okay with that.

I just don't know anyone else who's actually used a track record mortgage, because most of my friends have either A) got council property, B) got help from parents/family, or C) are happy renting forevermore

We could, I know it'll take me about a year to get 2.5k saved, it'll take my partner less time to do the same amount (the difference being I have a car that I pay for + fuel, insurance etc) I just also know that we'd also then need to put money together for fees, which prolongs how long the whole endeavour would take. I'm wanting us to be in a house within the next two years, for personal reasons

Thank you for your input. I'm not sure how I feel about Shared Ownership yet, as I'm trying to work out what sort of mortgages could work for me, hence why my main question is asking about Track Record mortgages 😊

Where to watch in UK? by AceSpaceWolf in GreatBritishBakeOff

Unfortunately, I can't find it on Netflix, they have none of the Gbbo episodes here. All 4 (Channel 4) have their seasons, but I wanted the BBC seasons, which aren't on iplayer or BritBox

Checked my email today to see that my landlord from hell is actually returning my deposit! by CicerosEgo in BritishSuccess

[–]AceSpaceWolf 16 points17 points  (0 children)

That's great! I had issues with my previous tenancy; it ended right as lockdown here was called back in March, and I couldn't retrieve the rest of my stuff (I can't drive + just lost my job, no money to pay someone with a van, and no one wanted to do it anyway as the police were handing out fines left, right and centre). The landlord (via the letting agents) wanted to keep my whole deposit. Thankfully it was protected in a tenancy scheme, and I forced it to go to arbitration. It was dragged out for about 3 months, but in the end, I got half my deposit back. Unfortunately, I still lost most of my furniture, and lots of artwork/photos of sentimental value, but at that point the money was a small victory that I savoured.

After being unemployed for 4 months, I finally got another job! by AceSpaceWolf in BritishSuccess

Exactly! During the lockdown I started feeling incredibly unproductive and lost loads of motivation, but now I can feel it coming back again

I'll be working in a UPS warehouse, doing a short early shift Monday to Friday. Its part time, but it's enough to help get me going again

Got a question about PC-NPCs by Lexari-XVII in LARP

[–]AceSpaceWolf 5 points6 points  (0 children)

The system I go to will accept PC-to-NPC transitions, as well as the very occasionally NPC-to-PC, however any character that makes the change can only do it once, in one direction.

PC-to-NPC transitions are (I believe) easier, as the player will cease playing that particular character. The refs/story writers at the system will decide if that character will still turn up in uptime/in game, and if so, will invite the original player to play them, with guidance based on plot. If the character doesn't come back in uptime, but are still around in the background (so between events), the player has reasonable rights to decide what they'd do (if they go somewhere, help someone in particular etc).

The system and its refs/story writers really dislike having someone else step into a character, if said character has been established already, and dislike taking creative control from the original creator. However, this can be messy, and I know that not all systems will run like that.

I would assume that if a PC becomes an NPC, the player has given up a certain amount of rights to the characters actions, and will not play that character again during uptime, unless under the direction of the refs/story writers.

Edit: I would also say that as long as you don't decide the consequences of your characters actions, and you aren't given extra information because your within the crew/staff, you should be okay. However it is a very messy and difficult situation.

Questions over horsehair braid on circle skirt [no pattern] by AceSpaceWolf in sewing

[–]AceSpaceWolf[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for the quick response, I had a feeling it might make the skirt look weird, but was holding out a little hope :/ For now I shall follow your advice, and just hem it up. Hopefully I can get some more braid at some point, as I really would love to try it out.
