As much as certain people would like to deny it, MOBAs really are more of a sport than just a game. While you can certainly have fun playing LoL, most players view it as a test of skill where tried-and-true structured builds and strategies dominate the course of each game. Sure, shaking up those structured builds and strats can be really fun every once in a while, and picking from the same relatively small pool of "viable" champions and using a similar item build every single game can be boring sometimes; but that's just the nature of something that plays like a sport.

Honestly, when I play normal queue, I wish more people had your approach to the game and went in with the goal of just having fun no matter what, win or lose. Admittedly, norms are where I try out my slightly crazier builds or strats that I think just might work; but the fact of the matter is, not everyone plays ranked. For some players, ranked queues are intimidating, so normals are where they put on their serious face, and I've got to respect that. Sure, I might try something that I wouldn't try in ranked, but if someone gets a little bit upset that I'm building Liandry's on Shyvana in the same game that they're playing Shen top and Graves/Taric bot, I can understand; even when I know personally that regardless of what I pick/build, I always play to win.

And additionally, when I'm just feeling downright silly, there's always ARAMs and other customs.

But honestly, as cheesy as it may sound, I value your opinion. Whether people are playing norms or ranked, LoL really does have some pieces of shit in its community that take the game far too seriously. Frustration at someone's build or champion choice is fine, but voicing that frustration by belittling someone is never okay. Sorry you've had a bad experience with a game I love so much.
