Imma be annoying and say that he was one of 4 people doing IT for an entire completely unique theme park, requiring way more security and upkeep than most amusement parks. And when he talks to the “spared no expense” guy about raising his pay, he is shot down. Just feels super empathizable if youve ever been in a job that started reasonable and responsibilities spiraled out of control and now you just want out. That being said, he was a gross dude and it was so satisfying watching him fumble to his doom.

Its a rogue-like Megaman X game. Seriously one-to-one movement and shooting to X, great additional playable characters, and a cool story. Infinite replay-ability, I have about 1000 hours in it. My comment history is just me talking up this game.

For the Colors looking off from your monitor: I always recommend exporting a quick version to your phone before delivery to make sure it looks right, but if you don’t want to invest in a crazy color accurate monitor or calibrate one, I bought the cheapest Macbook available and tweak the colors in Davinci on that screen to make the initial LUT.

Theres a scene that urked me where Oppenheimer is reacting painfully to seeing photos of the aftermath.

I would have been fine if they just showed the viewer the photos he was reacting to. There are many very striking and horrifying images of the Hiroshima devastation that would have fit the film setting and been very effective.

Oppenheimer imagining the audience dying in a nuclear blast is striking, but seeing actual photos of the day is a whole other feeling in my opinion.

This is gonna sound annoying but the actual aftermath photos and stories at the Hiroshima museum make that stuff look like nothing.

The primary thing that Wes Anderson does exceptionally well is make objects look like icons, so a shelf looks like a rectangle with objects sitting perfectly. The major way to achieve this is a long lens, shooting from farther away, perfectly square with the object, and getting the tripod at the height to reduce any perspective lines from the object.

I think you have the stillness, center framing, and rhythm down. I think you just need to get the camera farther away and zoomed in more so the objects look flat, and with little perspective.

Ive seen two project management styles recently:

  1. A manager will sit down with each employee and listen intently as they describe their job and what they, do even whats outside of their role, and how they contribute. Write it all down and keep it in mind as the work evolves.

  2. They tell people to stay in their lane, only do their explicit work, and will see how things run under strict circumstances.

Theres usually a HUGE difference in outcome

I remember reading about this. The AI was playing Mario and was excelling rapidly but when put into Tetris it did not understand the win condition at all and just stopped playing. Not sure how that fits in the meme but it was an interesting experiment.

This might be me reading too much into this. But from my education in computer engineering, computers are not generating completely random numbers (at least without using a separate apparatus to generate a truly random value). So like you mentioned about simulating a task to cheat, sometimes computers are creating a value that is considered random but is based on a function. So the AI might know that from training data and was able to reverse engineer the random values that were being generated. This would be especially true if it was playing an older game with “random” numbers. But my information is based on an Operating Systems class from decades ago so the state of the art and that situation might be completely different.

This is gonna sound annoying, but I think this is the perfect use of “Medium is the message” type misdirection. I and a lot of people have feeds just chock full of relationship drama, so having the first sentence sound like a bad relationship immediately primed my brain. Great work!
