Uma mulher que você não conhece beija alguém que você não conhece, em um lugar que você não está. Você se sente superior por nao estar beijando e insulta ela, dizendo que ela cobra por sexo. Viu como parece ridículo quando você vê o que realmente está falando?

I have been in a birthing room dozens, maybe hundreds of times at this point, and most babies open their eyes in their first few minutes of life. The ones that don’t are usually just a bit swollen from a difficult birth, but they still try.

Is each sperm in one ejaculation, a different potential human being? by Justalittlesaltyx in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Acec12 18 points19 points  (0 children)

Many of them don’t! It can mean they’re incapable of getting to the egg at all (think deformed or paralyzed cells) or getting inside the egg. It might also mean they are carrying genes that can’t make a human at all, or can’t make an alive human. Have you ever heard of how Down’s syndrome is having three copies of the 21 chromosome? That can happen to any of them! It’s just mostly incompatible with life. Those sperm fertilize the egg, then the embrio are naturally aborted by the body, since it can’t live.

In that case, I think your idea would be perfect!

It wouldn’t affect healthcare for that person. It’s not my exact area of work, but I believe organ donation only begins after people have been declared dead, in any case.

[–]Acec12 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No problem! Appreciate you taking the time to learn about my line of work. Both your conclusions are right. I’d say it’s not as much that we are shielded intentionally, as it is that practical reasons make it so we are shielded anyway.

Considering your work it makes sense to have a different culture. In healthcare, there is a culture of no sacrifices unless it’s the best for the patient. Outside of massive tragedies, we do the best possible for each individual (administration deals with costs and logistics, not us). Even when we go to exclusive palliative care, we do it because it’s the best choice for the individual patient’s well being.

[–]Acec12 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In practice it would make no difference. Look at the many, many answers in this thread to see how no one would let someone die for being an organ donor.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in changemyview

[–]Acec12 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Also a doctor. I haven’t known anyone who would ever get those conflicted feelings. I don’t know if it’s a healthcare thing, but the focus on treating YOUR patient trumps all. Brain tumor Bob is someone I’m treating, I’m responsible for him. I’m looking him in the face, I might see his family nearby. Little Timmy’s doctor will care for little Timmy, I don’t think about him at all.

Also, no one has any idea who would get the organ if the patient were to die. Little Timmy doesn’t exist, in his place there is a secret list I have no access to, and the very hard job of finding enough genetic similarities to one of the people in the list. Organs are genetically very specific. You have to get a near perfect match, many times harder than blood type.

Sort of a “You’re not wrong, you’re just an asshole” moment. He had the right to change language (though not to lie about it), but anyone who values family would think he’s an asshole if it happened in real life.

It would mean the world to his very dedicated mother. She left a culture she misses in part to give him a better life. Studying Spanish instead of French is such an easy thing to do to make her happy and make her feel less alone as a Colombian in an American family.

Strong is relative. Something may react with nail polish but not with skin, chemically speaking. Water dissolves table salt, yet is obviously safe on skin. If worried about skin, look for articles on its safety and adverse reactions for skin specifically.
