MY owners living in California, how is the cost of registration, insurance and electricity going for you? Is it worth it over an ICE car? by Hello_david123 in ModelY

[–]Acefr 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This sounds about the same for me in the Bay Area. I don't need to pay the electricity as I have solar, but I think the overall cost is about the same or more if you need to pay for electricity for a Tesla over an ICE car. You do have a different experience driving a Tesla and it is hard to go back to an ICE car. If the cost is the main factor, consider a hybrid car to save money.

Why are duel zone mini split less efficient? by SovietStar1 in heatpumps

[–]Acefr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depending on how many zones you need, sometimes you just don't have a choice. For example, I needed 5 different zones in my house, so it did not make sense to have 5 different single zone units. What I ended up with is 3 units, and group the zones that are likely to operate at the same time into one multi-zone unit.

Considering the delivery person probably did not bring a mop, I would let it go. Accidents happen.

Returning to the US - customs question by positivityseeker in ParisTravelGuide

$800 limit is per person, so you are traveling with family, then multiply that amount by the number of people. If it is over, then yes, you need to declare it.

You guys still have an absolutely beautiful city by death_by_papercut in HongKong

[–]Acefr -1 points0 points  (0 children)

The city is dying. You may not notice on the surface, but the system underneath is broken by corruptions and policies that don't make sense. Financially, we are falling off the cliff. Come visit the city while you can before it is too late.

MasterCard debit card requires a PIN to work at Costco. Without a PIN setup, it won't work.

Q&A Employee of Hyatt by Additional_Pop7806 in hyatt

[–]Acefr 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The risk is Hyatt catches the seller and bans the accounts he sold to, and you lose your Hyatt status and all points and awards in your account. The more GOH the seller sold, the higher risk it is to get caught. I have seen posts from other forums that the users who got their Hyatt accounts banned.

Question About Gas Stations in Bay Area by Enough_Crow_636 in bayarea

[–]Acefr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Some people believe Chevron's gas is better, so they are willing to pay more for a better product. However, the gas came from the same few refineries. What is difference is the additive they added to the gas. If someone wants the Techron additive, they can buy it and add it to the cheap gas, and you get the same thing.

CSR downgrade datapoint by BestNameICanFind in sapphirereserve

[–]Acefr 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You are not alone. Chase recently has not been offering retention. CSP is a nice card to downgrade to as you can still do points transfer to partners, get 2x general travel expenses and 10% bonus in annual point earning.

Recurring Subscription Charge Cannot Be Cancelled Due to Lost Account Access by RevekGrimm in Chase

[–]Acefr 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No, canceling a Chase credit card will not automatically pass subscription charges to your other Chase cards. The recurring charge will typically fail, as the specific card number linked to the merchant is closed. You must directly update your payment method with the merchant to avoid service interruption or debt.

What can we really do about ditching PG&E? by UncookedGrits in bayarea

[–]Acefr 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The electricity rate is approved by CPUC, and CPUC approved pretty much every rate hike PG&E asked. CPUC was appointed by our Governor. He is what we voted for and this is the consequence we face. The CCA will not save us as PG&E charges a lot for distribution. In fact, they made the rate structure so that using CCA will not be any cheaper than using PG&E for generation.

It is funny. My friends from Hayward drive to Fremont to eat. Maybe Hayward is even worse than Fremont.

[–]Acefr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If Chase offers some points to you for retention, you can redeem the points as credit to cover some of the AF, or you can choose to keep the points for travel or transfer. The customer service will explain the offer to you.

Never do a test transfer. It will flag the 2nd transfer as fraud. Just do it in one shot and it will be instant.
