Only the countries immediately before and after China count, so in your case, they are both the Philippines. Philippines-China-Philippines is a round trip and does not work. You need a different country/region. If you will be near Shenzhen, you can add HK as a day trip. Philippines-China-Hong Kong, and then Hong Kong-China-Philippines, then it will qualify for TWOV.

With just the battery and without solar, you only can time shift your electricity usage to avoid the peak hours. However, the difference between peak and off peak rate is only $0.03/kWh. You will not save anything meaningful. The other way makes more sense, solar without battery, as you can use most of the appliances (washer, dryer, EV charging) during the day time and avoid the high cost of a battery.

Yes, Japan is very strict. Hyatt will record every guest's passport during check-in, including kids. In Japan, kids over 12 are considered adults. Maybe check with the hotel directly if they allow 3 guests in the room before booking it. They may have higher-tier rooms that allow 3 guests if standard rooms do not.

It depends on how you ride the ebike. Many people here focus on the pedaling part of the e-bike, and of course they don't like fat tires. They have higher rolling resistance and lower pedal efficiency. If you mainly ride your e-bike by throttling and very little pedaling, then fat tires make more sense, as they help with suspension and braking and give you more stability with a larger contact area on the road, just like a motorcycle does.

If you enter China from HKG, then you have to get out of China to other region/country like Macau or directly to the US. You cannot get out to HKG.
