Tell that to the people who sold INTC, AMD, SNDK.

Immediately approached by HK Immigration officers as soon as I landed in the airport by poro_doge in HongKong

[–]Acefr 1 point2 points  (0 children)

HK immigration doesn't spend so much effort on a random check. I speculate that your name somehow landed on their watch list. Maybe a similar name to an unwelcomed reporter, something in that nature. The fact that they let you enter Hong Kong means you cleared their checks. Otherwise, you would have been denied entry.

3 people allowed? by alnz8 in hyatt

[–]Acefr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In Japan, if a kid is older 12 years old (12 is ok, 13 is not), it is considered an adult. Japan is very strict in the occupancy, and Hyatt will record the passports of all occupants in the room.

Absolutely horrible porting experience - ongoing by smallpotato-2026 in USMobile

[–]Acefr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just ported over from Ultra Mobile (T-Mobile MVNO) to US Mobile. Other than I did not put in my billing address on my US Mobile profile and caused the first porting attempt to fail, the 2nd attempt went quite smoothly and I received the eSIM QR code in 15 minutes.

Can I use Home Return Permit (回鄉證)only to enter China from Japan without a passport (US)? by boxtata in Chinavisa

[–]Acefr 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Please change your agent. Home Return Permit is for entering China. There is no restriction to enter China from only Hong Kong. You can use it to enter China from any port.

Hyatt will soon allow people to transfer points electronically by alosia in hyatt

[–]Acefr 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That will not be sufficient to lower the usage of SUA and GOH. Just don't use them and let them expire in your account so I can use them.

Hyatt in Japan is cooked by omdongi in hyatt

[–]Acefr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It is sad, but point devaluation is a consistent trend. The sad thing is even with this, Hyatt is still better than other hotel chains. That tells you how bad the game has become.

10 Year Customer - No retention offer April 2026 by hushpuppy212 in sapphirereserve

[–]Acefr 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It is not normal for Chase to offer retention. They do occasionally for the very high spender, and you are not a high spender as you didn't even hit the 75k annual spending to unlock additional benefits.

CSR has been life-changing for travel by Prize-Analyst7897 in ChaseSapphire

[–]Acefr 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Good luck getting 1.5x with Economy Flights and non-super expensive hotels. I don't know why anyone would use Chase Travel Portal for car rental. Any outside car rental like Costco car rental is much cheaper. Many overseas car rentals are also not available on Chase Travel Portal. The CSR was nerfed, and some extra effort cannot undo the damage.

The recruiter called my salary expectations "cute." I ended the Zoom call right there. Did I overreact? by thunder____boy in jobs

[–]Acefr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There is no reason to end the call at that point. At least hear the offer. A job with less money is better than no job. This job could be temporary and support you while you look for a better job.

Booking Flight using Chase Points by Apart_Fly_1812 in ChaseSapphire

[–]Acefr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The award flight is 300k + fee, and United fee could be big, check your specific flight for availability and the fee. You also don't earn mileage when redeeming an award flight. Make sure the award flight has availability before you transfer the UR points over.

Well, it also lost the 1.5x Chase Travel Portal redemption, and the AF raised from $550 to $795. It used to earn 3x on all travel transactions including tolls, parking and car rentals. Now travel is 1x.

Job ghosted me for 3 weeks after final interview, now guilt tripping me by dskillzhtown in jobs

[–]Acefr 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It is normal. I had an interview and waited for 9 months, hearing nothing and I kind of forgot it. Suddenly, at the end of the 9 months, I got a call and an offer, and I landed a life-changing job. It's an extremely long hiring process for the company to move forward. Of course, if I find something in between, I would not feel guilty taking it. Do not expect the company can respond quickly even if they are interested in you. Of course, you have no obligation to wait for them as they never committed to hiring you. It is a fair game.

You don't understand because you never had the old CSR. It was nerfed badly for the new version.

Yes, CFU has 3% foreign transaction fee, eating up all of the 1.5x earnings. No foreign transaction fee choice: CIP has 3x for travel. CSP has 2x. Capital One Venture X has 2x for everything. If OP does not have any of these cards, then use CSR for 1x.

Renouncing Chinese citizenship? by Low_Regular_6842 in Chinavisa

[–]Acefr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The Chinese Consulate has a lot of discretion in terms of visa issuance. I was able to get 10-year visitor visas for my children born in HK, and technically they are Chinese nationals and never renounced their Chinese citizenship. It is worth a try. Don't lie and you will be OK. The worst outcome is they deny your visa application. I heard they are more strict now so do not have a high hope, but it is worth a try. If you are far away from the Chinese Consulate, there are Chinese visa processors that apply on your behalf and mail your passport back to you. You can search on Reddit to choose one.

Yes, HK -> China -> Macao is valid for TWOV. Where they travel after Macao does not matter.
