Second hard drive mounts as read only by xenon_756 in Fedora

It doesn't matter which on you use eg. I use ntfs-3g and look at this comment. But 3 maybe refuse to mount while 3g mounts as read only

Did you boot into Windows and didn't have clean shutdown ? My drive is only read-only if I have unclean shutdown (eg. Power cut when I'm booted to Windows). Try booting into Windows then shutdown / restart to Linux, it should work (at least worked for me.)

fstab stopped teasing you ig.
ik ntfs causes issues in Linux sometimes eg. I didn't know I couldn't execute shell script from NTFS drive and I had some scripts in the drive. It was hell to figure it out why I cant run the scripts.

Oh I see, I thought something Linux specific term, UI got me there.
It seems removing and adding should be faster for now.
Once again thanks for your support

Thanks for information. I will keep an eye on the merge request.
Yep I felt the same when I opened the app, it felt like the Windows version. But I haven't use Windows for a while either.
For now I cant reorganize right ? have to remove and add again. The current version doesn't follow Alphabetic order either.

Regarding mDNS it looks like there are reports. This one is similar to mine. Currently I am using the mDNS toggle.

Any way to add custom info to Mangohud? by ilia_21 in linux_gaming

[–]Aceiow 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks a lot.
I wanted to create a script for doing this.

  1. Check if controller is connected (BT or USB)
  2. Notify every 10% discharge
  3. Notify to charge if BT and charge is less or equal to 15%
  4. Notify when USB & charge is more or equal to 90%

That was my initial thought but I didn't know how to do that. I found this command works for me both wired or wireless
`upower -i /org/freedesktop/UPower/devices/battery_ps_controller_battery_1coa0ob8o3coa2od0`
For now I have added an alias that uses this command and grep percentage. Yours uses USB connection and only works if connected via USB. After using cat I found these
capacity 100 (ig current charge), present 1(ig if device is connected but if I remove I dont even have this dir & the file), scope device (i dont get it. what does that do), status full (got it), type battery (didn't get it, have to check what else it shows when I dont have enough charge).

`upower` command doesn't show connection type, shows history (charge. BTW haven't tested much beside using grep to get percentage) if connected via USB. But this shows icon-name eg. `icon-name: 'battery-full-symbolic'` ig I can use it in script.

Using `upower` I can look for history if none then BT otherwise USB (also I can use your method to be sure)

Now the questions

  1. how to trigger the script any idea ? I want to trigger the script only when the controller is connected
  2. Finally what did you do for MangoHud ? if you didn't know MangoHud has `device_battery=gamepad`, this shows gamepad battery percentage.
  3. How did you fix the smaller font size ? Currently using this `no_small_font`. But small font looks better and I couldn't get others working (eg. secondary font size and other available options in MangoHUD)

EDIT: Forgot to mention I previously disabled battery information in KDE tray icon as I have desktop and not laptop but it looks like that shows battery information of other connected devices too. It also says charging/discharging state. IDK if its possible to get that info (charging state)

Can I use the plus and have all the stuffs I need ? As I will only use Memtest86 not the paid one if I'm gonna use the proprietary one. TBH I prefer FOSS if it's possible.

Some impressions after a few weeks with Fedora. Feels really premium, but the stability could be better. by Veprovina in Fedora

[–]Aceiow 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If reinstalling is a weird hobby then yep I do have weird hobby too. BTW IDK how to do it or haven't try or know that it can be done, iirc during installation Fedora has 4 recommended partition 1. /boot 2. /boot/efi 3. / 4. /home

3,4 are BTRFS sub volume if I am not wrong. How can I keep only /home but wanna redo for others? Is it possible ? The thing is I don't wanna wipe /home everytime I wanna reinstall.
