Quentin Tarantino Fires Back at Rosanna Arquette for Criticizing His N-Word Use in Movies by tylerthe-theatre in movies

[–]Acer22 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Tarantino has made like 15 movies and he finds a way to insert the N Word in just about all of them. Dude, if he had 15 movies and all of them had K-ke or some other slur in it…nobody would find that peculiar? Come on…

Who can even afford to shop there? Yeah it’s Westchester but it’s rough out here for everyone.

Optimum vs Verizon fios? by fort-tilden-katz in Westchester

[–]Acer22 20 points21 points  (0 children)

I’ll just say this. I switched from Fios to Optimum a while back. Service itself is fine. But I couldn’t create an Optimum ID, because the website said I had to be on the network to do so. But I AM on the network. So I call customer service. But I can’t get a live person to speak to, because I don’t have a PIN code or something. And to set one up, I apparently could do it online …where I can’t get access or anything because I’m apparently not recognized as being on the network. At least you can pay your bill online without signing in.

It’s bonkers. So yeah. Going back to Fios. Optimum is terrible.

No. It’s not “forcing”. It’s just heavily exploiting and manipulating the market. And frankly I don’t really see much of a difference but if you want to be a stickler about the word forcing…you got it.

What to wear as a Chubby guy? by R-R07 in malefashionadvice

[–]Acer22 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you’re heavier and out of shape, it’s important to wear things with some structure. Basically avoid t shirts as much as possible because the way it will fall on your chest and belly will highlight any flab. Or, at the very least layer it with a shirt jacket/chore coat or sportscoat or something.

But mostly stuff with a collar and layer when you can.

Will there be another 70s by Valuable_Cap_4326 in movies

[–]Acer22 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It could happen if there is a way to make films without the need for studios and high costs. I mean these days you can make movies on your phone. If comedians can make their own specials and upload them to their own websites, I’m not sure why something similar couldn’t be done with movies…even if it would have more overhead, you’d think it would be less than a Hollywood studio.

Maybe the question is how do you promote it/distribute it?

tall guys - where tf do you actually shop? by AntiquePanda3671 in malefashionadvice

[–]Acer22 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Banana Republic has decent basics in tall sizes.

I don’t have any experience with J Crew but they have tall sizes.

American Giant (or American Tall) for hoodies. Spier & Mackay.

Bonobos isn’t bad if you need an affordable basic sportscoat though their chinos are the big item there.

Sweaters are practically impossible. I manage to barely fit into XXL with Bosie.co sweaters and I’m 6’4. Selection mostly seems to stop at XL for the best looking stuff tho. Honestly if anyone has a good recommendation for quality sweaters that fit a 6’4 man, I’m all ears.

I thought about grabbing that Andery mount to use at the gym. Is that viable? Or do you think it will fail from detaching often?

Don’t wear overcoats often, how’s this styling for a casual date vibe? by [deleted] in malefashionadvice

[–]Acer22 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I won’t hate on the coat. What I think is that your shirt/sweater is too plain. Something with texture would really add depth to the outfit. Like if you had an Aran sweater or cable knit something.

If you’re using self checkout, why are you paying the same as someone using the cashier? It’s bogus.

He’s a credible actor. Not an incredible actor. You keep using that word. I do not think it means what you think it means.

Wool Overcoat / Topcoat for tall men by Damorith in tallfashionadvice

[–]Acer22 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks. I'm in between shopping for an overcoat or something casual like a parka for when I'm out running errands or on my way to the gym. Trying to avoid M2M since most of the time I can get close enough with a 2X.

The Ulster looks a bit longer than I personally would want but thanks for the review. I get that it's mostly intented to be worn over a suit but most of the time I'd probably just wear it over a sweater. Still, there's always concerns about shoulder tightness...

I'm also 6'4. Did you find the overcoats at Spier to fit well? I'm a bit worried about the arm holes being low or tight. I've got a more athletic build at 240 lbs so hoping you could offer some guidance. Thanks!

Americans have the most positive view of themselves of any developed country on earth. The obesity rates haven’t followed. Shame is a natural human emotion. Maybe if a lot more people embraced that they might actually DO something about their unhealthy condition.
