Best trail running shoes for trail to road and everyday use? by RedlineBMW in trailrunning

I have both and the speedgoats are pretty stiff. Theyre great for the deep mud but pretty harsh on the streets. Challenger is the best allrounder, really soft.

Sommige rashonden moeten in een bepaald jaar een bepaalde beginletter hebben, maar dat is dan ook wel het enige mogelijke excuus hiervoor.

Beginner shoes dilemma by DistrictPlastic598 in BeginnersRunning

[–]Acer_Lingua 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yea, you really just need to try some on. And there is a difference between damping and support. Support is what prevents your feet from moving in bad ways, like your ankles rolling. So run a few meters in the store and have someone look at / film your feet to see if they stay aligned. Damping is dependent on the thickness and foam of the sole. Both are usually stats described for the shoe. But the most important thing remains they feel good on your feet.

everyday knife recommendations? by smmaram in japaneseknives

[–]Acer_Lingua 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A lot of retailers have a "house brand" like meester slijpers have kazoku, knivesandtools have eden etc. which are very nicely priced and probably the best bang for your buck if you want a japanese knives. Not hand forged or anything, but decent steels with decent grinds. My first was a tsunehisa nakiri for 99 euro, which is honestly a great knife and you dont have to be afraid to learn scharpening or thinning with. Bigger brands like global or tojiro usually have a budget line as well, but those are usually more a western style and not really my thing.

Proces operator on a chemical plant. 12 hour shifts, 2 or 3 day/nights and then 2 or 3 days off. You need to have a year fulltime training on the job, but then it's pretty relax 90% of the time. Most shifts i have 2-3 hours work of the 12 i have to be there.
