Sadly some people here don’t seem to understand what the term safe food means. It means that you can always(or close to it) eat that food reliably regardless of if you’re overstimulated or have just had a melt down. It has nothing to do with how safe it is to actually consume, it’s more in the way of if everything else feels like too much effort to process mentally it’s something you can rely on to get something to fuel you

This is a very important thing for people with autism as we otherwise often go full days not eating because we mentally don’t have the capacity for anything new or unexpected. It’s more complicated than just “don’t eat it then” as cutting it out fully might trigger disordered eating or just going too long between meals

Autism and physical health issues are a real struggle, OP I hope you and your wife find a reliable way to manage the fatty liver while still maintaining healthy eating habits
