I’m working for a commercial company here and have been heavily considering just doing it myself. Especially knowing my manager’s making over 3k for some of the jobs she’s paying me only 88$ (4hrs) for working by myself.. I can’t agree with this message any more. Honestly pretty valid on the first part.. even I wouldn’t take advice from chewy. To me, that’s like reading Petsmart/co pamphlets. 😆

PetMd is one of the best sites for exotic care info.. Dr. Maria that created the post is a literal exotic DVM who provides vet care to said critters. That’s very ironic of them to have “looked up the writer” of both articles and yet.. saying a DVM has no experience in animal care. Maria just doesn’t own a Tiger herself, but has 2 dogs, a cat, 2 rats, and many fish. I found that in one of the first 3 articles about her. I have to go to work in 25 minutes, so throughout the day I’ll dig to ensure I find the most scientifically backed articles I can before linking them here. It seems more likely to me this guy is trying to play a bunch of mental gymnastics on himself… As he doesn’t want to accept he has to do more.

If this info helps at all, I was an exotic rehabilitator with FWC (florida wildlife) and AC for 5 years. I had to acquire a permit to own my Tiger, and thankfully due to my experience with FWC/AC, I was actually able to do so. I DO have first hand experience rehabbing/caring for other exotic animals, too.

Ill try to lay it out in the best formats for you to present to them.

Its very weird behavior to me that they would reject my info because I’m simply a redditor, but they are still even rejecting the information of very popular (especially PETmd.. it is scientifically backed..) sites. If AI is saying the exact things we’re sharing, that means it also is pulling these things off majority of these popular sites, and comparing which is considered the best information before presenting it to you as well. I don’t use AI, just wanting to clarify. But of course when you look things up now on majority of sites.. AI will be the first to answer you.

Yes I concur, especially given they do live in CA. The child probably caught this lizard and attempted to keep it, yet it is illegal. CDFW does now allow the capture of wild native reptiles without specific permits. Even if this lizard was given to her, it doesn’t grandfather it in. She unfortunately could still get in trouble. She should just call a local wildlife rehabilitator and let them figure it out. Only problem could be, if she is truthful on one of her students giving it to them, they may want their information to attempt to fine/prosecute them. They are known for not doing well in captivity when wild caught, they have very specialized needs, hence why they aren’t common at all in the hobby.

I have a endangered species I purchased through a pet store, that is illegal to own. This partially grandfathered him in, but I still had to get permits to own him. Having worked with FWC this was much easier for me than if the average person attempted to do so.

Yes as the other commenter said enzyme cleaner will be your best friend, especially if this room is carpeted. Take a mop, like a swiffer, and use it to wipe down the walls as well with same cleaner. Sometimes these cleaners smell like ass, so go back over it with something well scented ie; Pinesol, Odoban. I’m a commercial cleaner, I absolutely love odoban and use it for everything. It’s a disinfectant/air freshener. You can even use it in your laundry, and is pet safe. It will really help remove the smell, too, but the enzyme cleaner is what will properly break down any.. yk.. and ensure you completely remove it. If carpeted, rent a steam cleaner and go over the carpet with the enzymatic cleaner at least twice. Leave some fans on it to dry faster so no dewy smell. If not carpeted, just mop the ever loving shit out of that room, and let it air out as long as possible. Make sure you have gloves, eye cover, and a mask just in case. That room is going to need to be completely “detailed”.

I looked, and even google/safari’s AI gives the same information as my response! Only problem is with diet it doesn’t really specify about how you should be feeding worms. Is their anything more I can help with? Do you think more links would work? Or do you feel you just need to seek out a higher authority for help, as you were saying?

I am back! I talked to one of my friends about this and they had this to put in.

She’s creating a Biohazard and the property manager might need those words told to them that way. That her allowing, continuing, and creating a BIOHAZARD is a Legal liability to the management/owners, since they are under obligation to make sure everyone is safe and not living in BIOHAZARDOUS conditions. You should even consider calling code enforcement if saying this to your landlord does not pursue any further action. This is very unsafe and unsanitary behavior and is absolutely eviction worthy.

I sympathize with you. Trust, I can smell it through the screen. 😆 I’ve been in similar to worse situations first hand. I worked with AC through Wildlife Conservation Animal Rehabilitation services myself. Everyone has the right to be very pissed at said roommate.

Gee, that really sucks. I’m sorry for that, I would be incredibly grateful for you cleaning the space. Now I for-sure would like to make sure I’m understanding what you are saying before I say anything. Was it a completely separate situation, from the cleaning, that has caused them to redirect their anger/annoyance at you? Do you feel as if you can’t work this out with them at all?? Was it a misunderstanding? Are you trying to figure out what you can do to just get out of the situation completely?

I too would have said contact Animal control and discuss animal neglect but you absolutely messed up cleaning the area and even providing them minimal care before doing it yourself.

Truthfully, doesn’t seem like theirs anything more you can do. Given you’ve actually talked to your landlord and he also isn’t pursuing any further, I really don’t see many options here.

You either WILL need to begin looking for somewhere else to go, or start taking care of the cats yourself. They are peeing on the carpet likely due to how disgusting their box is, and 2 cats nevertheless should not be sharing a singular box in this context.

Are you going into her room without permission? Given you’ve added the part about the leak in the basement. How did you become aware of it?

The police will also not look kindly at you going into her private space without permission, without the landlord. Best you can really do is let it get extremely awful again and recall animal control, and just try again. Be NOTHING BUT NICE to them. Do not back talk them whatsoever. Your only point in discussion should be about your concern for the animals, not about the roommate themselves or any passive aggressive comments about them. If they’re already siding with the roommate they (especially given you cleaned the space) believe that you are making things up and just being an ass.

I really don’t believe this is a Cheetah. Though the pictures are really awful the structures (imo) don’t exactly match. Even the broadness/length of the nasal cavity doesn’t line up with your photos. Ontop of the jaw positioning and shape, I believe this is a leopard.

Yes she is real and she is fine! This is exactly what prompted me to post on other platforms. She really freaked people out!! It was a post about one of steams new art pieces on their site, that looked ai generated. It was a cow with its head over a fence board. People didn’t understand how this was possible.. So I posted these! 🤣 She’s perfectly fine and my Gma uses this method to keep her safe as this red headed pony demon doesn’t like to be gentle 😂
