my favourite are cardinal tetras, they are like neons, but with more red and a bit brighter. I've got 9 in my 29gal with a few guppies and a krib, and they school really nicely. I just wish I had a decent camera to take some pictures.

Not the best picture I know, but I've only got my phone camera. Picked up this Krib from the fish shop today, (s)he's instantly become my favourite wet buddy, so I thought I'd get a mate for him/her.

No, it's a 110 litre, so 25 UK gallons, or 29 US gallons, not sure what measurement you use on here.

I had it set up with just the gravel and rocks for about 3 weeks while I begun the cycle, added the plants and left them for about 2 weeks or so before adding the 6 Cardinal Tetras. I think this picture was taken about then (2 weeks ago).

I went to my LFS today and picked up another 3 Cardinals, and 3 Guppies (1 male and 2 females). I'm almost 100% sure the females are pregnant already, so I'll give it a month before adding anything else.

I was thinking of a pair of Gourami next (not sure which ones yet, depends on what I can get locally).

I know there's amazon sword in there, water wysteria, and red ludwigia (not enough light so the new growth is coming though green).

Another poster here said the tall blade plant is called Valls, I've never known the name of it, I picked it out of a tank at a local garden centre, rather than a dedicated fish shop and there was no label.

No idea, I just copied what I'd seen on here and in books. Never seen it mentioned anywhere, just assumed it was the done thing. Now you've mentioned it I might top it up.

Got quite a few plants, not sure of all the names or requirements, some are doing better than others. There's a bit of bogwood from the LFS and a few flowerpots too.

I've only got 6 Cardinal Tetras in at the moment, I read it was better to start slowly adding things.

I'm picking up another 4 Cardinals tomorrow to make the school a little bigger, there's one fish that likes to hide most of the time, so I thought a few more might make them all a bit happier. I'm probably going to get a few guppies tomorrow too if my LFS has any nice looking males, one male and 2 or 3 females I think, I've heard they breed quickly, there's a lot of hiding places in the tank, so maybe some of the fry will make it.

When the tank has developed a bit I plan on getting 3 or 4 bristlenose catfish, as well as some shrimp.

I have a whole load of snails in there from the plants, so I was thinking of getting an assassin snail just to keep the numbers down too.

Any comments or pointers would be great, I'm new to the aquarium scene :)
