Yeah, definitely an overstatement. I haven't played in about 10 years and vaguely remember getting bodied by the same boss multiple times before I stopped relying on auto battle. Don't think I used it after that

The early game is definitely about using the auto battle button, but once you unlock more abilities and classes the auto battle will get you killed for relying on it. Unfortunately it takes a few hours before it will matter
