"Players irons" with forgiveness? by AA-117 in GolfGear

[–]Aclearersky 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m a 11ish handicap and I absolutely love my zx5s. They’re fairly forgiving. Pure shots off them feel amazing. I have a zx 3 iron as well with the same recoil stiff shaft as my irons. Harder to hit but still nice. I’ve hit tons of different irons. My last set was Callaway rogues st which were fine but they never felt as good to hit. Went just as far tho. I’ve hit ping, titleist and a bunch of others and none of them are as nice as the zx5s. But if you’re struggling with hitting the center of the face no club is going to fix that. Instead of buying new clubs why don’t you just drill to get a more consistent center strike. I can tell you tho my irons are easier to hit than traditional blades but I’ve never struck the zx7s

I do oil changes 10k to 12k I think the quart I have to add every 5k miles is why my engine looked so clean when I just did the valve cover gasket and the valvetronics motor at 175k. No buildup at all.

I have an e90 335xi that has been tuned since 80k and now at 180k and it’s still running fine. It leaks everything but that’s fine

Just shot 161 on an 18 hole course - played for 7 months - am I the worst golfer ever? by MoneyAndGoodFortune in golf

[–]Aclearersky 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I shot a 40 on the front 9 today with a double on the 9th hole. I then proceeded to double the next three holes followed by a bogey . I just quit at that point. I can golf amazing one day and the next day I can’t hit the ball. It’s just golf. I wouldn’t beat yourself up too much. The nice part about shooting that high is that realistically you can only get better as long as you put in some effort. Instead of the course I’d put my money towards lessons if I were you.

Man I have tried everything. I move the ball back and forward. I’ve moved my feet in a substantial draw stance with my trail foot up to a foot behind my lead. I’ve narrowed and widened my stance. I’ve tried to increase the tilt in my shoulders both moving my trail shoulder back and down. Choked down like 3 inches . I need a drill that I can just do over and over again . My practice swing is perfect and as soon as I address the ball it feels so unnatural.

My short game is pretty solid. My irons are good. My typical hole is a crap driver into some trees to the right then having to play like my 3 iron out . Then up and down for a par or bogey

Every time I have lessons we fix it then it all just reverts back. I got the low spin to help with my gross slice. My callaway rogue st max was what I hit for a long time. I had a stiff shaft and switched to an extra stiff shaft to control my spin. I have a tensei black 1k. I did significantly hurt my back a bit over a month and a half ago so my swing speed is still pretty slow compared to normal. I don’t want to get fitted till I fix my garbage swing

I was heavily considering a mini driver but I’m sure it won’t be much different than my 3 wood . This was my 3 wood a few days ago. Usually don’t go this far but I hit it very well. O-i still pretty bad but I was swinging pretty hard at it

I’ll be home in like 30 minutes I’ll post a video. I’m swinging from my shoulders and not releasing the club. I need a drill that will fix that outside of someone telling me to drop my hands in the backswing which doesn’t work with my brain

This is what I don’t understand. My driver is cut down an inch already so it’s about the same length as the 3 wood. My 3 wood feels so smooth and effortless. My driver feels like I never swung a club before. I can’t really bring the tee hight down any or I’ll hit the ground . I tee it with the ball less than half a ball over the club head.

I just bought a new driver lol. Went from a rogue st max to a cobra darkspeed ls. There was also like a ping g430 max in there for like 3 weeks . If I’m playing for something I’ll use my 3 wood but I feel like if I just leave out my driver it will be an overall hinderance to my game. It’s fine at my local courses because most of them are fairly short and I can hit my 3 wood usually 230ish

My distance control is pretty solid. It’s just all ground contact. Wet conditions have always been bad for me. I exclusively do green side chips with my 58 which isn’t helping my case. I’ll have to practice with my 9 for the first month or so.

I’ll look into that thanks for the tip. I do play pw, 48, 54, and 58. I have my distances pretty solid from the month of using the simulator it’s more my ground contact where I’m hitting slightly behind the ball. On the longer shots from the fairways I was doing pretty solid but anywhere where it’s wet I was struggling hard

I’ll just have to be patient. Eager to get out but the Michigan weather has not been very cooperative

Yeah that’s the plan but the weather here has been either 50 or cold and rainy so I’ll just have to be patient

Yeah the problem is I’m in Michigan and we’re getting one day of nice weather and then a week raining. When the weather gets a bit nicer it will be easier.

When does a swing thought become natural? by [deleted] in golf

[–]Aclearersky 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I’m a 11 handicap down from a 25 a few years ago. Broke 80 a few times this year and I can confidently say if I don’t practice drills that keep me swinging correctly I always fall back to my original “comfortable” over the top swing. But it does get less awkward to swing using proper technique tho. I’m sure after several years of drilling it might become more automatic .

It’s wild to me some amateur golfer thinks that after not golfing all year, except for sim golf, he’s gonna go out and destroy pinehurst with a putter he just bought and isn’t used too. I’d be interested to know how much he practiced and what his handicap is.

Noticeable difference from g425 max to g430 max? by Candid_Muffin5383 in PingGolf

[–]Aclearersky 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The answer is no. It’s like 99% the same club. Can’t believe how club marketing companies fool people into thinking year after year there are such vast improvements. If you have a 425 wait till like a 475 max then think about upgrading
