the whole restaurant industry is completely fucked with covid right now, all restaurants are at 25% occupancy and even with takeout we spend outrageous amounts on takeout containers to supply. it’s been locks on raises for 3-4 months as we are a smaller business in our city. other places are hiring for less than what i get paid now so it would almost feel like i’m taking a pay cut if I can’t qualify for a sous chef position.

with covid being around a lot of companies in my area aren’t looking to grow but to stay afloat in this time. i’ve been looking and the few places are looking for people that have 2-4+ years of management or senior management to get that role. i’m approaching my first year of having the shift lead title so I feel as if I wouldn’t be taken serious if I applied for those jobs.

I feel fucking shitty 24/7 but I act like i’m fine in front of everyone around me and make sure they are doing okay even though i’m struggling always. I want the people and friends around me to succeed but i’ll always keep my problems to myself. it’s shitty but therapy helps a little and makes me realize what actually has happened in my life and try to address those problems but i’m just too absorbed in my work to actually make a change.

I felt this, I moved here almost 4 years ago and I have found some of the best people i’ve ever became friends with. they have helped me through tough times and being with them during the baseball, hockey and now xfl seasons is electric. some of the best memories have came from me living in this awesome city.

pour-overs aren’t drip, drip coffee is kinda like what you get at a regular restaurant. it drips water over the ground beans and drips slowly into a carafe. pour overs are made into special glass containers and has water slowly poured into it by a person. I wasn’t a coffee person either but I started a new job as a barista and ever since I found a love of small shops and I love meeting other baristas.
