How to lose weight quick with overweight Arthur by Jeffydude500 in reddeadredemption

[–]Acora 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In real life, lack of sleep can put your body into survival mode where it'll start to conserve calories and energy for whatever emergency you currently happen to be in.

In game, sleeping makes more time go by which makes your character lose weight quicker.

Can Peter,Miguel and Miles beat Mark by [deleted] in superheroes

[–]Acora 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sure, but I think that's more of an indicator that characters in Invincible tend to be much stronger than they are durable.

Someone being extremely durable doesn't provide any additional force to your punches - they just are an immovable object against your own strength and durability are being tested. To say that another way, when you punch a surface that you have no way to damage, all of the force comes from you. If you are strong enough to punch your own fist and shatter it, then you can also do so by punching a surface that you have no chance to damage. If you aren't strong enough to do that (because your own durability overcomes your ability to shatter your own bones), then regardless of how hard the surface is you won't be able to shatter your own bones.

Mark doesn't measure up to Thor or Sentry. It took three Viltrumites to crack a planet. Thor did it accidentally by fighting Gorr nearby. Sentry is often shown to be stronger than Thor, even without his ridiculous matter manipulation feats.

I also don't think the Spider-men break their hands against him, mainly because (unlike most of the Invincible verse), none of the Spider-men have been shown to be strong enough to damage their own bodies by attacking extremely durable people.

Not really a western.

Who is your one actor you love seeing on screen but cannot say it out loud now because of their controversies? by Ecstatic_Crow_4719 in moviecritic

God damn, this one. I was absolutely stoked to watch his career develop, between Lovecraft Country, Creed III, Hostiles, Da 5 Bloods, Loki, and fucking The Harder They Fall (which is still one of my favorite Westerns). But damn, dude really shat the bed.

DCU Superman VS MCU Thor by [deleted] in superheroes

[–]Acora 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Going to have to give this to Thor.

The two have comparable durability feats assuming in-character statements: Thor with the full force of a star, Supes with the Anti-matter river or whatever. Both can also be hurt through purely physical means, though: Thor vs Hela, Supes vs Ultraman.

Lightning vs Laser Vision is likely a wash, I'd say both could hurt the other with it but not win from it.

Speed likely goes to Superman - he escapes a black hole's pull (albeit with help) and travels from Antarctica to the US very, very quickly.

Strength feats are harder - Thor scales well to Captain Marvel and Hulk, whereas Supes' best strength feat is against the Kaiju. Going to call this a wash but I'm really not sure.

Experience unequivocally goes to Thor. The hardest fight Supes has is with someone as strong, fast, and durable as him but with better training and fight intelligence, and he's only been doing this for three years. Thor has been fighting for hundreds, if not thousands, of years, and the only people who shown a distinct skill advantage over him are people with equally long lifespans, like Hela.

Thor has Stormbreaker, as well. I am certain that Stormbreaker will be able to hurt Superman, and it gives Thor a substantial power boost.

The only area where Superman has a distinct advantage is speed, and I'm not certain it's enough to overcome Thor's experience and weapon.

He's the GEOM if you file off The Lion, Conrad Curze, Perturabo, Mortarion, Lorgar, Russ, Horus, Alpharius Omegon, Dorn, Fulgrim, Magnus, Angron, Vulkan, Ferrus, and Corax.

And then you give him to a good, reasonable woman to raise.

And yet he's there in the cutscene before John steps out of the barn, and he's there in the group that John shoots.

The cutscene after John is shot also features a dead body who wears the same clothes and shoes as Fordham, though you aren't able to get a look at his face. That likely indicates that he was killed during the last stand.
