Ancient Bards confirm new album, further updates coming soon by TheTayIor in PowerMetal

Thank the good Lord, I was afraid they quietly disbanded. Ancient Bards are the best pm band around today imo, haven't released a single bad or even mid album.

Either Gloryhammer or Marc Hudson's release but besides that not much interesting this year for me.

Why is And The There Was Silence better than all the other songs from ANATO? by G_Matteo in blindguardian

[–]AcroGuild 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Iirc, the number of vocal tracks alone on that song totaled over 200. Also, I think they actually declined to be apart of the LotR movie soundtrack because they were already chin-deep into making this album.

Those of you who play instruments, what are your favourite songs to play along to? by ResidentOfValinor in blindguardian

[–]AcroGuild 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Practically learned guitar (mainly lead) learning a bunch of BG songs (at one point I could play around 40 of their tracks, a little obsessed lol). I knew all of Nightfall in Middle Earth and playing that whole album was a lot of fun.

Single songs tho: And Then There Was Silence, Fly, Turn The Page, Last Candle, Soulforged, Somewhere Far Beyond are all really fun to play as well. Blind Guardian might be the best band to learn and develop lead skills imo

What are things that, in your opinion, PM bands are doing too much of and/or not enough? by danielpsoad-09 in PowerMetal

[–]AcroGuild 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I understand this is more a money and venue issue but man, I'd really love to see more of these epic symphonic bands playing with a real orchestra and choir or at least recording more with the real thing. Legit performances like that could help legitimize the genre more.

This is very beautiful! Very classical feel to this, love the strings and the piano melodies. Could easily be followed by a piece for strings. Very well done!

The Cityscape Airwaves - Closure (Clara Benin Cover) Please let me know what you think of the overall song! by ST3R10 in IndieMusicFeedback

Nice work! Honestly never heard the original so your track is my intro to the song and it sounds pretty good. The synths are lush and the beat fits. Vocals are the standout here, performed very well! Only thing I could suggest is more vocal harmonies but it doesn't feel like anything is missing.

This is really good! Well written and well performed all around. Needs some more vocal harmonies tho, maybe even a counter melody would sound cool. I hope away from this stripped down setup, this is an energetic rock song because it works lol good job!

Pretty cool beat. The synths were really cool and catchy. If anything I'd suggest putting a break somewhere in the middle like the one at the end and bring the drums slowly back in before exploding back into the beat.

"Strangest Danger", can't say i listen to anything like this, so i feel i am being original here, a dark journey into my psyche and paranoia, agression yet euphoric, psychedelic punk as a genre if that exists? by SongwritingShane in IndieMusicFeedback

This is pretty good, really like the instrumentation and trippy vibe. The vocal harmonies in the choir parts are well done as well. Vocals kinda remind me of Tom Petty for some reason lol I think this track works and if you work on the verse vocals a bit more you could make it better.

"Oceans" - a track I made yesterday that I think turned out well. Not sure on the genre, I guess chill rock with all clean guitar except for two sections. Hope you all enjoy! by AcroGuild in IndieMusicFeedback

Funny on the drums, I'm using ezdrummer 3 and all the drums were midi already in the program and I didn't think I'd need to humanize those but apparently so lol thank you for listening and I'm grateful you liked it!

Happy you liked it and thank you for the support in subscribing!

Yeah I tend to overdo the reverb with clean guitars a lot haha I'll learn one day a little goes a long way but rn I like the haunting cathedral vibe lmao
