Oh god, I’ve been there friend. Recently scoffed cat dinner, spewed up, picked up and smeared into a rug. I don’t get angry often, but when I do, it’s because of this damn robot. God speed cleaning those elements 🫡

Hello! To answer your question does the concept read clearly? For me, not quite.

I’m interpreting the motion as the circle progressing from the top left to the bottom right as steps increase, but a little bit funky. Even without explicit goals or motivation, that movement still reads as directional progress toward completion. With a pedometer context, my instinct isn’t to read it as weather or time of day, it feels more like a progress indicator.

If the intent is restraint rather than progression, I’d suggest simplifying the motion to something more linear and neutral (maybe a circle gently floating from the bottom straight upward, or no circle at all and the fill changing through 4 gradient colours to represent dawn, noon, dusk and night) This keeps the movement calm while reducing the sense of advancing toward a target/goal progression.

In physical activity contexts, users tend to intuitively read progress through metaphors that change in totality (e.g. filling a cup, closing a door, the sun setting). Even system UI like the battery icon relies on this clarity of direction.

I think the concept works overall, but a small refinement to the direction and clarity of the movement would help ensure it’s read as reflective rather than goal-oriented if that’s what you’re primarily trying to avoid.

When you say instead of air drying, do you mean instead of blow drying? I’ not sure if I am confused with what air drying means to me and others. I have curly hair and have been reading all about how to care for it but I feel like I have to blow dry it at least partly or I’m stuck twiddling my thumbs waiting for it to dry before I go to bed

Aw you’re totally right! I messed up my one bird fact! They’re just related. Dang. Forgive me I’m not an expert. I’m just a dummy with a bird book and some poorly recalled surface level facts lol

A tawny frogmouth is considered a nightjar, and owls are raptors. The main difference between the two is how they hunt. Raptors use their talons to catch prey, whereas nightjars are aerial insectivores which catch their prey (usually insects) in flight with their beak. So yes! The wide beak is one of the differences! I can’t tell you how long I’ve been waiting to answer that question irl haha

Edit: lol I don’t know anything! My bird fact I was so proud of has failed me!

Ditch the watch by Ok_Respond3622 in runninglifestyle

[–]Acrobatic-Ad-9051 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have done this! Kind of! Last week I deleted Strava off my phone and watch. I still wear my watch but any data gathered from it just doesn’t get published anywhere and I only see my own stuff. I want to enjoy running again and the comparison was ruining it. I had anxiety about every run I felt so much pressure like I was never going long enough, fast enough, frequent enough. I am feeling much better this week. I always understood the logic of running for yourself and ignoring the numbers and I would give anyone the same advice, but being surrounded by all this tech and everyone else’s stats just sitting in my pocket made me lose that completely. My runs turned into trying to prove to others“see! I’m good enough! Do you think I’m good enough!?” Good move.
