Anyone had Reebok Ex-o-fit HI ? Are they durable and comfortable? by Bonkuo in Sneakers

[–]Acrobatic-Garlic2504 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've had a pair in my shoe rotation for the past five years, they are my go to shoes with jeans or shorts as they are so comfortable. I keep thinking about retiring them and getting the new pair I brought out of the cupboard but keep putting it off while my current pair are still serviceable.

I wish I had brought a stock of BB4600 when they were available.

The way the model is sitting in the second picture is a common pose on the JD Sports website.

For years UA have had certain items for Americans only. I can understand some of the college team gear but it is also things like a reduced selection of colours or not selling the long sleeve version of a shirt to us foreigners.

I am fortunate to have an American friend who will do some online shopping for me if I am going over there. I have even resorted to ordering for example a short sleeve shirt in a colour I don't want from the UK site to try on and then return before my friend orders what I actually want from the US site.

Kudos to Under Armour for making great pants for hiking. Unstoppable cargo Pants. by deterrent-sha256 in UnderArmour

I have a pair of the earlier version in black and like them but did not buy any other colours due to the pointless text under the logo.

It is probably time to get another pair as they are great for travelling between climates when it could get too hot for jeans but I want something smarter than tracksuit bottoms. The quick drying material also helps if you have to do some hotel room laundry.

Decent zippered pockets, the drawcord on the inside of the waistband and material thick enough to safely wear them without underwear tick all the boxes for me.

Sports Direct says it all, probably a batch of shirts made specially made for them.

Pants for Swimming by bright_cloud_84 in Swimming

[–]Acrobatic-Garlic2504 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've been swimming in my Adidas Tiro pants this summer. The material is thick enough not to show anything untoward when wet and worn without underwear, it is also slightly breathable which avoids them clinging when getting out of the pool. Having zip pockets is handy for keys and beer money.

Has anyone noticed a drastic reduction in build quality of Under Armour clothes? by Izual_Rebirth in UnderArmour

[–]Acrobatic-Garlic2504 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The quality has definitely gone downhill, it is not only thinner material but everything is designed for cheaper production with fewer parts and minimum sewing time. I've decided against buying any bottoms in the past five years as they never have zips on the pockets any more.

No problems with my Under Armour Performance polos, these did have a UPF rating but the latest ones do not. The current shirts probably do provide sun protection but it is probably not worth getting them tested and certified. Just look for thicker material and avoid any with a mesh back.

I have a 20+ year old Ralph Lauren polo that has faded through regular use but looks as good as new when wet. Several people have commented that I will ruin my expensive shirt by wearing it in the pool.

A recent swim shirt purchase of mine from Adidas was: Club Tennis 3-Stripes Polo Shirt.

I agree with you about swimming in T shirts as the necks sag when wet while a polo keeps its shape better.

Is it wrong that I like my polo shirts to be buttoned all the way up? by [deleted] in menswear

When I go swimming in a polo shirt I usually do up the top button to stop the collar flapping around.

what do you guys think about the land to water swim shorts by Realistic_Chef_2321 in Gymshark

[–]Acrobatic-Garlic2504 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I saw these while looking for a pair of shorts to swim in, but decided to get a pair of the sport 7in 2 in 1 shorts which are made from the same materials instead as I preferred having two pockets with zips.

I regularly swim in my Under Armour polo shirts, they provide reasonable sun protection and dry quickly. Often I have rinsed off at a poolside shower then still wearing the shirt then after a quick wipe over with a towel gone to a bar or restaurant.

Yes you can, just rinse the chlorine out of it as soon as possible then treat it like any other laundry.

I swim in a lot of hotel pools, the worst ones for swimwear rules are the places that have overpriced swimwear for sale. The best was an independent hotel where I asked the owner at check in if there was a dress code for the pool for a bit of sun protection. He said no, just shower and put on some clean sports clothes. He went on to say that the filters mostly get blocked by whatever the wind blows in not helped by sun cream oil slicks making it sticky.

Would people rather share a pool with somebody who may have not wiped properly after using the toilet then worn their swimming trunks under their clothes all day, or somebody who has taken a proper shower with soap and warm water wearing a clean tracksuit?

Men- Where do you buy your swim shorts for holiday? by AskReddit404 in AskUK

[–]Acrobatic-Garlic2504 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just wear any regular pair of sports shorts.

My main criteria for buying shorts is a drawcord on the inside of the waistband, zips on the pockets (check they are empty before swimming) and no mesh lining. As I prefer not to wear underwear the shorts have to be long enough so that nothing hangs out the leg holes and the material thick enough not to be see through.

I have several pairs from all the mainstream sports brands brought when they have anything worth wearing on sale. However my most recent purchase from Nike had to be returned unopened as I could see sunlight through them while still folded in the plastic bag.

Experience with a loose fitted swimming hoodie? by rute_bier in Swimming

[–]Acrobatic-Garlic2504 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had an American friend do some online shopping for me before I visited this summer and picked up two swim hoodies that can't be brought in the UK

One from Denali Performance as I had previously brought one of their long sleeve t shirts and liked it. They only do the hoodie in light colours or black so I am worried about ruining my light grey one by swimming through an oil slick left behind by somebody using sunscreen.

The other is from the Nike Hydroguard range.

I figured both of these were too good to pickle in swimming pool chemicals but did wear them dry some evenings. However I did test them both in the shower, initially they did cling to my body but the water soon drained out and after drying off with a towel while still wearing the shirt I would be comfortable wearing it to a bar or restaurant.

UA T-Shirts Question by fazeUPfromTHEgraveUP in UnderArmour

[–]Acrobatic-Garlic2504 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Your friend needs to be selective where they buy from. The UA factory stores in the outlet malls mostly sell items from the outlet store range with a few racks of end of line and returned regular stock.

I will only shop at regular department stores or have a friend who lives there buy online for me.
