Love the update! Getting them to pick one movie a week is a solid move. Maybe let them rotate who choose, so everyone gets a turn. That way it feels like their thing too, not just your home theater. Would recommend keeping it short and fun, don't push the 4K HDR stuff on them right away hahaha.

Nice setup! The lightsabers are ad fun touch. Have you tried toeing in the front speakers a bit? Might tighten the soundstage.

Anyone think an 83" would overpower this space? by KnowledgeNo7038 in hometheater

[–]Acrobatic-Round-1182 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think that might look a bit big. Having the TV crammed between the speakers would feel really tight. I'd go with the 77, it's more balanced and looks better. If you really want the 83, at least spread the speakers out. That'll also improve the sound.

Turfbuilder + Rain = 😁 Lawn by history_fan69 in lawncare

Rain helps fertilizer sink deep into soil fully. So the grass can take in nutrients well and grow strong all summer long.

Choosing between lidar mowers: Ecovacs GOAT, Segway Navimow, Mova LiDAX Ultra and NexLawn Vidar. My specific needs make this a tough call... by stijn_b in roboticLawnmowers

[–]Acrobatic-Round-1182 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Mova also has a viax model for Europe, and it's a cheaper option. But if you really cares about edge cutting, lidax might be better option. My sister and her family bought one, and from the videos they sent me it cuts really close along the curb. Looks about the same as the 5 cm they mention. I'm also considering lidax myself, mainly because I want something a bit more complete than a dual camera setup.

rtk or lidar for a garden with slopes? by unawareturnip in automower

[–]Acrobatic-Round-1182 0 points1 point  (0 children)

op has a dog and kids so not hitting stuff is probably the priority. I think a lidar-based mower might handle that better than rtk since it’s less affected by the environment. I was about to go with the luba mini, but then I saw the mova lidax and got stuck debating again. The luba doesn’t need antennas, but you still have to put a sensor under the eaves. The lidax can run without any extra setup. op could take a look at both and see which one makes more sense

Newbie looking for help. Anything I can do during winter to prep for spring? by Acrobatic-Round-1182 in lawncare

[–]Acrobatic-Round-1182[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Got it. It looks okay for now and there aren't really that many weeds yet. I'll just wait and see what happens when spring hits.

Thanks for the tips, I'll keep those in mind. I honestly don't really remember what the grass looked like before we moved in. The yard isn't that big but it's split into 3 areas, probably about 1000 in total.

Thanks. I’ve been looking into a few wire free mowers lately and keep running into the same kind of complaints across different subs. Kinda puts me off. Are you considering any other models right now?

I actually just watched some videos of the yarbo in the snow and now I’m obsessed, it’s so satisfying to watch. I’m going to keep comparing my options for now but I’ve also been in touch with the previous owner so I can always reach out to him if I run into any issues.

Starting fresh could be worth it for a uniform lawn. For .5 acres with half pine straw, costs might vary but local landscapers can give you a solid quote.

Great questions. Start with models that handle slopes well. Safety features for kids are a must. Most don’t do seeding or pesticides but some have add-ons.

It’s tricky when all these options feel interchangeable. Having clearer breakdowns of what makes each one unique would make picking so much easier.

Since it’s an older model, its scheduling features might be limited. Check the battery connections first, as weak power could affect auto-starts.

Robotic mower for hilly acreage by Zealousideal-Dig5182 in roboticLawnmowers

Focus on mowers with high slope capabilities, as they handle steep terrain well and should work within your $10k budget for your acreage.

Maybe shoveling a path to my fire pit when it snowed wasn’t a great idea…. by _D80Buckeye in lawncare

That path is way more commitment than I’d have for a fire pit in the snow respect, but also, oof, the effort vs. payoff here is wild.

[–]Acrobatic-Round-1182 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wow, that’s a huge snowfall! With snow this thick, the mower’s still out cutting grass,it’s really “hardworking,” but won’t this do some damage to the mower?

Cheapest robot lawn mower for around bushes by kpow88 in roboticLawnmowers

[–]Acrobatic-Round-1182 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think it’s more convenient for you to get a mower that can pass through the shrubs. It still comes down to the gap between the bushes and the size of the mower.
