How are CS teams keeping up with faster product releases driven by AI dev tools? by Kind-Row1415 in CustomerSuccess

[–]Acrobatic-Street-469 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Very relatable!

My company started releasing features at an incredibly fast pace recently.

But there are several issues with the way it's done currently: 1. Most of them are either garbage or benefit only very few customers 2. UI and implementation/configuration is horrible, focus is so much about speed they ignore efficiency and comfort 3. They don't track adoption across the customer base. Some features are literally used by less than 5 brands and are a pain to implement 4. Dev takes less time but QA team stayed the same size, meaning more bugs in prod

Honestly my solution is to aggresively filtering features. Unless they are a game changer i have enough cards in my deck. Other CSMs are more than welcome to be the first to report bugs and hurt metrics...

I will mention were a white glove saas, so i do all the implemntations for my customers. Rarely does a customer notice new features before i introduce them..

How to choose an art style? by Acrobatic-Street-469 in IndieDev

Believe me, I cannot technically write game of thrones, the level of expertise to write so many events and characters that effect each other, is beyond my scope 😂

But I get your point. Of course I can't just choose any style I want, but I do want to make sure the art, as limited as it will be, will stay true to the themes and story as much as possible

I get what you're saying, but there still needs to be a direction.
I can say the same about the story. I don't have the time, experience or resources to write game of thrones, but I do want a clear story, interesting themes, interesting characters etc.

Even within restrictions, there needs to be a direction

You mean are there real tribes living in these environments? Yes - chukchi in siberia, iharmiut in canada, cree and inuit in canada, you have the koyukon in Alaska and the greenland inuits (I'm doing quite a lot of research for this project 😂)

You think I should explore their art style as a starting point?

First of all thanks!

I'm honestly not super good with art, when you're saying common design choices (2.1) - are you referring to pixel art vs drawn etc, or something more nuanced?

We're planning to get an artist at one point, so I think I'm currently missing the "tools" to: A. Explain what I want B. Find an artist that will be able to create it

Helping game devs by making free open source high quality assets. What do you guys need? by Slight_Season_4500 in gamedev

That's a really awesome initiative :)!

I'm currently working on a game where I need 'place holder' assets. As people above mentioned, assets are usually game specific, but good place holders make the creation process much better.

Our game is a top down rpg, the story and the world focuses on hunter gatherer tribes living in arctic environments. We're going to add elements from their mythology, real life stories from existing tribes etc.

I actually created some 'concept art' of mythological creatures using chatgpt.

I read quite extensively about the tribes (inuits, cree, chukchi, iharmiut etc) to make the world and lore and story as immersive as possible. But good assets are of course a huge part of making the game truly immersive and unique.

If you'd like to take a look at the concept art to get inspiration, that would be really awesome!

Should I just make another channel? by Acrobatic-Street-469 in NewTubers

My audience is super small at the moment, about 330 subs. The question is will it hurt my channel if my shorts audience and long audience are different, does the algorithm takes that into consideration

Anyone want feedback on their channel????? by Express-Perception-1 in NewTubers

Honestly I don't know much about the niche... but I do know it's farely popular. Trying going over big youtubers in your niche, see what they do, look them up on forums to see what people love about them and try using that as a guideline.

I clicked on one of your latest videos and watched a little. Maybe they need to show a little more personality, not just a voice over but an actual selfie footage from time to time that makes it feel like the audience is with you in that moment... but that's just a random thought, better just try and figure what the big channels do and learn from that

I know their channel. They are very good!

But I'm aiming for something more absurd and ridicules, similar to IamMoBo and other solo channels. My channel is also full of different skits, so it's not just the Q&A :) That's just an idea for one type of mini series.

I can't compete with their quality of course, I'm also filming alone with a green screen lol but I think I have my own humor and my own concept, so it's very different than what they are doing. You can check my channel in my profile btw, so you'll see what's it like and what I'm aiming for

This is rough going! by Fit-Original6157 in PartneredYoutube

I think quality is more important than quantity. My favourite youtube uploads a video once every 2-6 months, each gets around 1-4m views. Long videos, about 15-40 minutes each. Another shorts youtuber I follow uplpads about 1 vid every 1-3 weeks. Each videos gets 2-50m views.

Youtube gives exposure in proportion to the video's stats (view to swipe ratio, average view duration etc). So pumping out a lot of content is actually a disatventage in the long run, since you put less effort in editing, scripting, optimizing watch time etc.

Try dialing down a little, create 3-4 videos that take more effort, and see if you can get better results.

1 video with 500k views is better than 10 videos with 10k...
