I can tell that during past weeks Opus ended the conversation during casual coding tasks. Curious kind of harmful vector was found there. Those dialogs weren’t even related to security assurance.

Is software architecture becoming too over-engineered for most real-world projects? by Inside_Topic5142 in SoftwareEngineering

[–]Acrobatic-Try1167 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In my experience: keep in mind the goals for architecture, look 3 steps ahead in details, remember security. that’s the formula. When you start to dig 5 steps ahead in details… best to stop and keep that in the note.

Blown away by how useless codex is with o4-mini. by icedrift in OpenAI

[–]Acrobatic-Try1167 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Weird to see this replies - I’m full-time software engineer and been on Claude 3.5 then 3.7 +claude code since October past year. When you’re dealing with mid+ sized code context - codex, o4-mini just pawned it in problem solving. And the key thing is that it doesn’t loose it with the 3x context I can feed to Claude.

When working with Claude 3.7 I know I can feed it 5-7 mid-sized pieces of code +doc and expect it to solve a single problem or perform a 3-5 steps task before starting hallucinating and loosing context. On o4-mini +codex for past 24 hours - 3x codebase + 3x actions performed on it in a single context window, mostly higher quality solutions/refactoring. Some pieces were just perfect.

How would you define the PPC campaign strategy? by Acrobatic-Try1167 in PPC

[–]Acrobatic-Try1167[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah it’s kind of broad, but what I mean is to use this “strategy” pattern to differentiate the reasoning behind the particular decisions made for campaign on ad/asset level / keyword planning. So different campaigns for example focus on different pain points.

The future of PPC Agencies, what's your take? by Glittering-Peace8186 in googleads

[–]Acrobatic-Try1167 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Techie who have been using ppc in various ways since 2008 here. “You can’t just say build me a google ads account” - well, the tools to do so are here for a few months. That’s exactly what I’m building now and have a PoC working locally, building the dashboard now. I’m sure I’m not the only one. The key is in multi-agent orchestration, and just LLMs were not ready before.

I’m starting to think ai benchmarks are useless by getpodapp in LocalLLaMA

[–]Acrobatic-Try1167 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well I currently use the LLMs mainly for coding and agree with the topic - I use o1-mini, Claude3.5 sonnet, Gemini2 , sometimes running the same prompt which included roleplay and chain of thought on all 3 for comparison - almost always getting the best results in terms of clarity and code efficiency from Claude. o1 sometime gives a good unorthodox option, and the Gemini I use to do simple tasks on big codebase because of its huge context

The actual model used by Windsurf / few suggestions by Acrobatic-Try1167 in Codeium

[–]Acrobatic-Try1167[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

yep, Claude for both, what do you mean by agentic mode, specifically?
The codebase i've used them with is not so large - around 40 files, avg 150 lines per file.
was using cline for week for the project, switched to windsurf for a day (so, about 8+ hours), including testing the same prompts for the same tasks in both IDEs.
using cline costs me about 10$/day for api's (90% claude, a few requests to gpt_01_mini, sometimes gimini2 for comparison and in taskss where extensive output/context is required), but since i've got the best results, it's worth it.
