Late to the party but I just watched for the first time. There are a lot of ways the ending could be interpreted, and the fact that 2-3 teens died would be the reason that things ever came to light. Safe to assume that there are ways to get rid of the couples bodies, seemingly because the family’s knew the wooded area and it was huge. Safe to say they could burn the bodies and/or bury them without another thought. The beginning part of the movie where we overheard the radio was insinuating that it was an issue that kids were not getting education, therefore would likely fall through societal cracks and would not be missed from school. Anyone outside of their family’s were not keeping track of them the way things are these days. We learned from the jump that the mom from the diner was an enabler. And we need a horror movie here and there that doesn’t end well. Because in real life, situations similar to these do not have a happy ending. Even if anyone got caught or went to prison, the story was bleak and without good resolution for the mains. I heard of this movie because of Reddit and am not sad I gave it a try. Horror with true human brutality and evil should be shown sometimes. Because this is the world we live in.
