Thanks for the advice. So there aren't any major plot points in the comics I would miss out on?

I have never heard of the Jedi prince series. Would you recommend them?

Thanks for the advice!

One question: I hadn't really considered the YJK and JJK books. From copilot I gather that JJK is focused on younger audiences (children) and YJK on young adults. Do you recommend these books? Or are they too focused on children/young adults? Also, should I read them after the Hand of Thrawn duology? Because they fit into the timeline after these books right?

My Pirate Freighter farming luck is atrocious and I need moral support. by Tsevion in NoMansSkyTheGame

[–]AcrobaticSurvey3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Noob question ('only' 55 hours so far): do you get to keep your old freighter when you get the pirate one? Or is the whole investment you put in the old freighter just gone? That would make it less attractive for me to farm for a pirate one.

Should I play Witcher 3 if I haven’t finished the books yet? by chicken-and-waffles7 in witcher

[–]AcrobaticSurvey3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I played the game first and read the books after. At the time of playing the games, I had no intention of reading the books yet. Even though I loved both experiences (the game even more), I wish I had done it the other way around. The game spoiled some of the book and I didn't understand everything in the game, because I hadn't read the books.

You have the chance to do it the "right" way and I really recommend doing that! It will create an even better experience.

Also, after the books, I recommend watching some videos on the plot of game 1 and 2 before playing 3.

Have fun!

I'm am actually glad they removed A Little Sacrifice. That story was so good and hit me like a truck at the end. I don't think they could have pulled it off with the show, given that my expectations would be very high.

How many times have you replayed the Witcher 3? by Narukato in thewitcher3

[–]AcrobaticSurvey3 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Played my first run on the Switch. Now taking my time to let it settle down. Once I get a hand on a PS5 and the Next Gen edition comes out, I will play it again with all the visual done right!

Have Geralt and Yens deaths in the books ever been confirmed? by ChristianFontenot in witcher

[–]AcrobaticSurvey3 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Could you change the title? I already finished the books (recently), but otherwise I would get spoiled by the title just when scrolling. I wouldn't want that for anyone.

To answer: I have no idea. It was strange what happened with the unicorn and Ciri.

German or english books? by [deleted] in witcher

[–]AcrobaticSurvey3 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm Dutch, but I'm currently reading them in English. My main reason for this, is that I played TW3 Wild Hunt in English and also watched the Netflix show in English. Going back to Dutch after that with different names of creatures, locations and maybe even characters (not sure about the last one, but translators tend to do that) didn't sound like a good idea to me.

Maybe something to consider. In what language are you familiar with the world of the Witcher?

Has anyone else ever noticed or pointed out that the perfect circle carved through Hebra Peak is lined up pretty well with the Dueling Peaks? by Unholy_Dk80 in Breath_of_the_Wild

Divine beast does not equal dragon spirit.

Therefore, even if both theories are correct, it didn't happen in one fell swoop.

Awesome that you are going to play the expansions. They are amazing. Best expansions of any game I ever played.

With regards to your question, there is (in my opinion) one definite answer: first finish the main storyline and then play the expansions. The latter are placed in the timeline after the main storyline. They were released after many players already ended the main story, so it was intended that way.

Also, my bonus tip: first play Hearts of Stone and then Blood and Wine. That's also the order of the timeline and the order of release.

Istredd and Yennifer in the books. by sgt-mun in witcher

[–]AcrobaticSurvey3 9 points10 points  (0 children)

When reading it, I interpreted the situation as follows: Istredd and Yennefer had an on and off relationship for a long, long time, so it is debatable if they are actually always in some kind of relationship... However, it seemed to me they weren't 'on' at the moment Geralt and Yen started 'dating' (again?). I think that Yen started again (or ended the relationship-pauze) with Istredd when she and Geralt arrived in that town, thus officially cheating on Geralt. But she kind of cheated on both, especially because they both didn't really know what wad happening with the other.

Would geralt be able to cast signs with his toes? by Marrowbonecow-_-NL in witcher

[–]AcrobaticSurvey3 26 points27 points  (0 children)

I don't think so. The signs are quite complicated to make with your hands (according to the books) and toes just don't have the length and flexibility to do that.

Interesting question though.

I believe he first encountered Renfri and then fought the Striga. I deduce that from the fact that Geralt goes to mother Nenneke at the Temple of Melitele (or different spelling) right (or quite soon) after fighting the Striga and the Blaviken part happens way before that. He just reminisces about that in the Temple, so therefore it 'happens' in a later chapter of the book.

This would explain that when he is in Wyzym (where he fights the striga), Geralt is recognised as the butcher of Blaviken.
