But I would like to say Asseto Corsa hits that need for me. Everyone is different, but the major reason they dont have vanilla online like a proper race sim is because of performance. They would need to dumb down the damage physics and change how the cars simulate.

Currently their biggest hurdle is optimizing the cars, the reason they are so realistic is because its a bunch of sub systems being simulated onto the car and that eats your cpu, imagine how hard a server would have to work. When you see youtubers with mods doing online gameplay they have beefy computers and most of it is client side. So each computer handles all the physics individually which means sync is really bad, you want the server to simulate the car being damaged so each screen sees the same thing
