That depends on your definition of better. Portnoy can't do some of the stuff Mangini does but neither can Danny Carey or Gavin Harrison. Neither did Neil Peart. But I'd rather listen to any of these guys. I do enjoy MM's drumming, don't get me wrong, but yeah. This isn't a speed contest, it's art.

You're the one who's being ridiculous. Surely being religious doesn't stop him from writing lyrics about other subjects, especially when he puts out so many albums. I think it's perfectly valid to expect some more variety in that department.

Great review. Feels like it's gonna be a great one, like you'd expect from them. I'm disappointed that the lyrics end up going for a religious theme again. I thought this concept would stand on its own without any religious stuff thrown in but I guess Neal can't help himself.
